This is a GCSE lesson on mega cities which is an integral part of the urbanisation unit on the new specifications. The lesson allows students to examine the definition, location and impact of mega cities. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson starts by exploring the features of a mega city with a carefully planned starter. It then moves on two map tasks which are relevant to the learning. Students will be engage with both activities. A video clip is then used as a stimulus for students to examine the pros and cons of mega cities before moving on to the plenary.

This is a GCSE lesson atmospheric circulation. It is suitable for all GCSE specifications. Key facts about the lesson are:
The content covered by the lesson are; Differential heating caused by distance from the equator. The Albedo effect. Air pressure. Global air pressure cells (Hadley, Ferrel and Polar cells). Impact of air pressure cells on climates. Isobars. Ocean currents and their impact on heat transfer around the planet.
Learning tasks used in the lesson are; Starter. Video clips task. Use of diagrams. Keyword bank included with one writing task. Writing frame included with another writing task. Recap quiz. This is a GSCE lesson in the urban change unit. The lesson examines the factors responsible for urban growth or change in developed, developing and emerging countries. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. It's based on the new GCSE specifications.

This is an A-level lesson on the effectiveness of global governance. The lesson focuses on the arguments for and against global governance and then reviews case study examples of global governance to assess its effectiveness. Key facts about the lesson are:

This is an A-level lesson on global commons. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson looks at the definition of global commons and examines what makes each of the 4 global commons special.
2. The lesson examines the economic concept of the 'tragedy of the commons' and then analyses how each global common is being managed sustainable through global governance.
3. The lesson meets the requirements of the new GCE A-level specifications. It includes video clips on the concepts being introduced and there are also web links on the management of each common for further reading.

This is a KS3 / KS2 lesson on compass points. It is an excellent lesson to peak students’ interest in maps and to pass on map skills. Key facts about the lesson are:
The content covered by the lesson are; Description of a compass and its purpose, using 4, 8 and 16 point compasses, locating places in different hemispheres of the earth (northern, southern, western an eastern).
Learning resources used in the lesson are; labelling compass coordinates, atlas compass task, hemisphere atlas task.

This is an A-level lesson on coastal processes. The Holderness coast was used as a case study. Textbooks are recommended for this lesson. Key facts about the lesson are:

This is an GCSE level lesson on the human processes that affect upland and lowland landscapes in the UK. It is suitable for all specification but was prepared with the Edexcel B specs in mind. Key facts about the lesson are:

However, students will need to use their text book for one of the activities. This won’t be a problem though as the information is covered can be found in all GCSE textbooks for the new specification. Now just download and teach!
This is a year 7 introduction lesson to geography. It’s ideal for the first lesson of the term. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. Content covered in the lesson include definition of Geography, differentiation between physical, human and environmental Geography, daily use of Geography and examples of jobs linked to Geography.

Ten lessons on plate tectonics; processes, hazards and the management of these hazards. The bundle covers everything in this unit of study. All the resources you need to deliver this unit are included. The bundle include case studies on earthquakes and volcanoes as well. The lessons in the bundle are all differentiated and include challenge task. As a matter of fact these lessons can be used with GCSE groups with minor tweaking.
This bundle has three lessons. The first lesson is on the earth's formation and structure. The second lesson is on the plate tectonics theory and evidence of tectonic movement. The final lesson is on plate boundaries and what happens at each boundary. The lessons are all planned in detail with everything you need to deliver them. This bundle as designed for KS3 but the lessons can be adapted easily for GCSE.

Description: This lesson is appropriate for students studying the rivers unit at GCSE and even A level. It allow students to learn independently about the main ways in which rivers transport material.
This is a GCSE lesson on sea defences as a coastal management strategy. The lesson:
1. Covers the reasons sea defences are needed along the coast
2. Defines and differentiates between hard and soft engineering defences
3. Covers specifically how different sea defences protect the coastline
4. Assesses the advantages and disadvantages of the each of the different sea defences.
5. Includes the 4 main types of hard defence and the 4 main types of soft defences
6. Has all the resources needed to deliver the lesson in the ppt and the accompanying word document which is a handout.
7. Suitable for several different exam boards.
This is a GSCE lesson on mega cities, primate cities and world cities. The lesson develops on the idea of urban hierarchy and introduce to students the idea of mega cities, primate cities and world cities. This is good foundation work for A level geography. Key facts about the lesson are:

2. It's well planned. It took me some time to get the right balance of activities and content into the lesson in a meaningful but using active learning ideas

A GCSE lesson on the growth of urbanisation worldwide. The lesson explores how and why urbanisation has increased in different parts of the world since 1980. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson meets the requirements of the new GCSE specifications. However, it can be adapted for a top set year 9 group and even an AS group.

3. The lesson starts by defining urbanisation and proceeds to analyse statistics about changing rates of urbanisation worldwide. The lesson then moves on to look at reasons for different rates of urbanisation between LICs, MICs and HICs. Finally there is a past paper question to check students learning before the plenary.

3. The lesson examines the differences between informal and formal employment. It also compares this in different countries.

This is a GSCE lesson on depopulation using the Western Isles in Scotland as a case studies. The lesson can also be adapted for A level as well.

This is a lesson on the definition and human causes of global warming. Key facts about the lesson are:
1. The lesson examines the key concepts of global warming, the greenhouse effect and human causes of global warming.
2. The lesson is strong with differentiation activities for students at either end of ability level. As a result the lesson is suitable for students at KS3 and GCSE.
3. The lesson is embedded with some very good video links explaining the greenhouse effect and human causes of global warming. They have been used to simplify content as well as stimulate class discussions.

This resource covers the the challenges for the planet section of unit 1 of the Edexcel Geography A course. Next summer is the last sitting of this exam. The resource is versatile; it can be used as a series of revision activities, a HW resource pack , intervention resources or as a series of recap and reinforcing content lessons.
