Differentiated walkthrough of a response in AQA Literature Paper 1. I have used A Christmas Carol as the focus of examples but is adaptable to all texts on both parts of the paper due to their identical mark scheme. Tried and tested with two classes, who found it very useful.

They are neutral, so can be applied to any specimen or exam paper, and offer the students tips and clues rather than answering the question for them or providing a formulaic response. Some descriptive writing opportunities, and a range of transactional writing skills covered. End of unit assessment could be either analytical, comparative, or transactional writing. Final few lessons cover some speech writing.

Mini scheme of work aimed at Y6,Y7,Y8 for writing poetry. 8 lessons cover writing haiku, ballad, sonnets, free verse, and analysis of ballad and sonnet. Assessment is spoken word reading of one of their chosen poems.
