24 lesson SOW based on Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games, aimed at Year 7 students. Independent reading as homework required, but SOW includes quizzes to check reading has taken place. Group/class reading opportunities throughout. Reading skills covered are analytical paragraphs of short extracts, and comparative writing. Some descriptive writing opportunities, and a range of transactional writing skills covered. End of unit assessment could be either analytical, comparative, or transactional writing. Final few lessons cover some speech writing.

Session 2: Basic introduction to CVs Session 3: Basic introduction to Cover Letters Creates an opportunity for introduction prior to more focused Post-16 research and thought at the beginning of Year 11. Currently aimed at Essex students, but easily adaptable to your own local area.
