I worked alongside literacy representatives in each department of the school in order to identify ways each subject can support literacy in a meaningful way. Here is the document I produced which may be useful to any existing or aspiring literacy coordinator.

Differentiated instrumental parts to allow students to create an ensemble performance of Rocking Around the Christmas Tree. There are up to 3 levels of differentiation for each part and bass tablature is also included. There is also differentiated composition worksheets to encourage students to write a middle 8 section for their performance. A differentiated listening test which refers to different versions of Rocking Around the Christmas Tree with you tube links is also provided.

Keyboard music with and without notes and 6 levels of differentiation. Guitar tab is available as a push your thinking task. The sibelius file is available so parts can be altered.

6 different timers which you can copy and paste onto any existing PowerPoint. I find this useful for helping students get accustomed to working towards timed deadlines with specific exam questions. This lesson helps students write the introduction to a persuasive speech for a Year 8/9 assembly on which subject to take at GCSE. Includes a differentiated starter, model examples and a review task within a 4 page student booklet.
