This collection of verbs commonly used when cooking or writing recipes are useful for pupils writing instructions or recipes and for ESL students speaking or writing about cooking.
The sheets comprise of 30 cooking verbs. Each verb comes with a definition, accompanying photo and sentence containing the key word.
These cards can be printed double-sided onto A3 for a handy help sheet, or onto A4 to be cut into cards and distributed to pupils/students according to ability. They can also be made into booklets or display posters.
The verbs are arranged alphabetically and each word is used as an imperative verb in an imperative sentence.

The classic Christmas poem Old Santaclaus with Much Delight with comprehension questions and writing challenge. Answers to the comprehension questions are included. The accompanying illustrations are also included.
This traditional anonymously written and illustrated children’s poem was published in New York in 1821, and was the first to mention and illustrate a Santa character.
Note that the final stanza of the eight stanza poem refers to naughty children being beaten by their parents.

A punctuation mark matching activity with three levels of differentiation.
Pupils match each card showing a punctuation mark symbol with an explanation of its use and an example sentence or sentences.
An answer sheet is included.
This activity helps pupils to remember the names of punctuation marks and how they are used. It can be used when introducing new punctuation marks to a class in lower key stage two or as a revision activity for upper key stage two (or even KS3). This activity is ideal as a starter or plenary for an English/literacy lesson or punctuation lesson.
The cards have been differentiated three ways:
• Lower ability: example sentences display the featured punctuation in red
• Middle ability: featured punctuation is missing with its position indicated by a red rectangle

Punctuation worksheets based on the book Flat Stanley: The Great Egyptian Grave Robbery by S. Pennypacker and created by Jeff Brown.
These three differentiated worksheets give pupils the opportunity to name various punctuation marks and add missing punctuation to sentences. The missing marks include the following:
• Capital letters for the start of sentences
• Capital letters for proper nouns
• Full stops
• Question marks
• Commas after fronted adverbials
• Apostrophes for contractions
• Apostrophes for possessions
• Inverted commas and other speech punctuation
These tasks are useful when learning about or revising punctuation, including sentence punctuation.
Each sheet comes with its own answer key.

Character overview template for the fantasy novel The Nowhere Emporium by Ross Mackenzie. As pupils read the novel, they take notes about the characters using this character overview template.
This helps pupils to notice the details that are important for making predictions and understanding the story. The summaries that they create can be used to help with writing about characters and from the point of view of different characters.
A model template filled out after reading Chapter 1 has been included to show pupils how to use the resource to write summaries about each character using the information revealed in the book. Pupils should continue to take notes about each character after reading each chapter.
