There are a series of questions based on the pdf in this resource - these are scanned pages from the GTI.
You will need a blank world map for this task -I have included a selection of copyright-free world maps to choose from.
The You tube video can help pupils to locate countries and gain some context about this issue. Discussion questions can follow about what pupil may feel connects many of these countries, such as unstable governments, recent or current conflicts, the presence of natural resources such as oil or ‘conflict minerals’, poor human rights abuses, etc.
This task is a good introduction to the issue of international terrorism and can be used to support curricular work in this area, provide background information for extra-curricular clubs such as Model United Nations, Politics and Current Affairs Society and/ or debating. This resource can also be used for the international issues unit of both National 5 and Higher Modern Studies (SQA) or International Baccalaureate (IB) Global Politics.
This is a booklet that pupils will fill in themselves. This booklet includes key revision questions and practice essay questions for pupils to frame their revision around. The space provided allows for personalisation and choice for each pupil to decide how best to present their ideas - mind map, bullet points, images, etc.

Also included is a table of a number of different types of source that pupils may face in this type of question (although the list is not exhaustive). Pupils could use this table as a reference guide. It is a word document so it can be edited easily to add more sources should you wish.
Also included is a task for pupils to attempt whereby they have to think critically about different types of sources of information in terms of their reliability. This could be transformed into a card activity or a carousel task.
