This Thanksgiving Math Mystery “Case of the Gobbler’s Curse” is a fun way to engage your students. In this math detective story people have all started to lose the power of speech and cannot stop making “gobble, gobble” noises! Students must solve the worksheets to reveal clues as to which potion will cure those under the Gobbler’s Curse.

In this Summer Math Mystery Activity – Case of The Mathhattan Meltdown (GRADE 3 US Common Core Aligned) – students will find themselves trapped by the Scorcher who has been melting the city of Mathhattan this summer. In order to save themselves and to stop the melting issue in the city, they will be required to use their math skills to solve the mystery behind his condition and the cure he needs to restore to human! Engage and motivate your students during math time with this fun summer math mystery!
There are 5 clues to crack to solve the mystery:
Clue 1: Ordering Fractions (Like denominator)
Clue 2: Area of Squares and Rectangles (by multiplying sides) – Customary & Metric options provided.
Clue 3: Subtraction (within 1000, regrouping required)
Clue 4: Multiplication Word Problems (Facts 1-12)
Clue 5: Addition (within 1000, regrouping required)
Pack also includes a mystery declaration sheet, answer sheets, elimination guide and awards.

Math Mystery: Case of the Misplaced Pot of Gold
Leroy McClumsy, a leprechaun, is really sad because he cannot remember where he left his pot of gold in Mathhattan. St Patrick’s Day won’t be much fun for him if he doesn’t find it. A great math detective is needed to help solve the case for poor Mr McClumsy!
In this math mystery pack you will receive:

- The Math Mystery Story: Case of The Misplaced Pot of Gold
- Possible Places List - that students will use as they work through each math clue worksheet.
- Clue 1 Worksheet: Complete the addition sentence (example: 255 + __?__ = 302)
- Clue 2 Worksheet: Review Mixed Pattern Tables (students apply a given rule to numbers in a table, for example: multiply by 2, then add 3.)
- Clue 3 Worksheet: Perimeter measurement (available in both imperial and metric unit versions)
