Text Structure : An Interactive Poster Set
I have been using these posters in my classroom for a couple of years now, and have found them to be very helpful in helping my students master the five types of text structure. As we read something new in class, we consider the text structure, and identify it by moving an arrow, that I made magnetic for my whiteboard, to point to the specific text structure that we are reading.
This is a great way to foster analytical discussion with our students about this particular topic throughout the school year.
Included, you will find:
Header Options - Display one above the posters, if you so choose.
5 Text structure posters to display
A variety of arrows to choose from
Thank you so much for stopping my shop and taking interest in this resource for your classroom. It’s truly my honor to help teachers, such as myself, better the educations of our students!
All the best,
Sticker Chart Assortment
UPDATED: Now includes a “Bee” themed chart!
Included:
*6 sticker charts of varying design and color schemes
Each chart holds 30 stickers for everyday classroom and/or home use!
I hope you like them and are able to use them with your kiddos! Please note that if you prefer to not print in color, these can all be printed in a gray scale…and will still be adorable! Card stock will give you a thicker, more durable chart, but standard printing paper would work for this as well.
Classroom Decor
ift the spirits of your students with my “Welcome” pennants and colorful name plates that are also editable! This will allow you to give each of your students their very own spot in your classroom. You could even use them as colorful labels throughout your classroom!
I hope that you enjoy this token of my gratitude. Enjoy!
Earth Day
Your kids will be THRILLED to complete this packet! My students certainly did. :) Working both in the classroom, as well as outside, we took a closer look at the world around us, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of our planet.
This is a fantastic product that I made in honor of Earth Day, but with a focus on symmetry. It can, however, be used at any point during the school year!
With this file, you will receive:
1 symmetry packet cover
3 interactive symmetry pages - focusing on line symmetry, asymmetry, and rotational symmetry
“Drawing Symmetrically” graph paper
1 “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” printable
1 “Create Your Own Stamp” - focusing on why keeping our earth clean is important
*1 writing prompt/illustration page with a focus on symmetry
Notebook and Journal Cover
With a little inspiration from Astrobright journals and notebooks, I created four editable covers in three different sizes for you!
I used the following products by Astrobrights, but you can use any notebook with the same dimensions:
Astrobrights Twin Wire Journal (dimensions: 6.5" x 8.5")
Astrobrights Flex Journals (dimensions: 7" x 9")
Astrobrights Wide Ruled Notebook (dimensions: 8" x 10.5")
So what covers did I create?
I wanted covers that would truly serve a purpose in my classroom, so I created:
Editable Classroom Memory Keeper - to store memories, funny stories, and more that happen throughout the year in your classroom
Crazy Cool Word Keeper - These awesome Flex Journals come in packs of six at Sam’s Club for under $8 a pack! Each of my kiddos will get one to record their vocabulary, spelling, and root words each week.
Communication Log- This will keep track of both my professional and parental communication throughout the year.
Attendance Log- I am departmentalized, so keeping an accurate record of 80+ kiddos each year can be a daunting task. This will certainly help!
You can use these covers for WHATEVER you want! I made each of them editable, so you can change the wording to fit your classroom needs!
Letters for Santa
Christmas is such a magical time of year! It happens to be my favorite time of year and I wanted to share my love of it with all of you by giving each of you a gift from me! This unit focuses on writing a friendly letter, but not just any friendly letter…a letter for Santa!
Inside you will find a holiday word list to help with students’ spelling, a sample letter, and one with notations of what a friendly needs to have. You will also get a whimsical page that breaks down options for your students for each part of a friendly letter. It will help them with their focus and creativity! I have also included two holiday-inspired writing templates for your students to write their letter to the big guy himself!
I hope that you enjoy this little gift and that it brings both you and your students a bit of joy during this magical time of year!
With gratitude,
Verb Tense Balloon Pop
This is a really fun, interactive, and simple lesson that you can do with your kiddos. All that you need is this packet, some balloons, and a good set of lungs! :) It comes with everything you need:
3 pages of verbs (past, present, and future tense)
3 pages of verb tense sheets for the wall
2 pages of pictures with simple directions
I hope you have as much fun as we did with this one!
Enjoy and thank you!
