Here is the 6th resource for introducing French to adults at beginner’s level!
I have compiled this resource using an adult approach who are learning French for the very first time.
This activity focuses on the time only from the hour to a quarter past the hour and it also incorporates regular verbs ending in ‘-ir’ in the present tense. This resource also incorporates all the four keys skills such as reading, listening, speaking and writing.
I am not sure how to upload sound files on this system, however, I have attached the transcript and you can read it out to your students. Alternatively, if you private message me at , I will send you the sound file.
Happy teaching and learning!
These resources explicitly looks at verbs using ‘avoir’. Depending on the curriculum, students at Key Stage 3 level may have an early acquaintance with these expressions and these resources specifically addresses this. The presentation looks at the verbs in the form of games and quizzes. There are differentiated accompanying workbooks which accompany the presentation. The students can colour in the pages and complete the subsequent activities.

This resource looks at various Asian countries in French with their prepositions, such as ‘au’, ‘en’ and ‘aux’. There is a memory game of the prepositions and the names of the Asian countries in French. You can divide the class up into groups and they can score points for their team for every missing country that they remember. There is also a quiz about the countries and subsequently, the students then copy out the table and fill in the missing gaps.
There is also an accompanying colouring in poster of the flags of the Asian countries with a wordsearch. Furthermore, there is a reading comprehension activity attached with differentiated questions.
This resource is geared at Key Stage 3 level.

Welcome to Stage 6-1! This is the initial stage of the mastering of the conditional tense and well done on completing Stages 5-9/5-9a!!
The purpose of this powerpoint is to become deeply acquainted with the formation of tenses and verbs, especially for those who have difficulties in doing so. This is a very good way of introducing the conjugation either when teaching it for the very first time or revision. This is the 41st stage of the learning process and there are 72 stages in the entire process. By the end of the 72nd stage, learners will have a developed a very profound mastery of not only forming nine different tenses which range with complexity upon progression, but also, an exhaustive range of different verbs which have been very carefully divided stage by stage. Upon completion of Stage 9-8, the final stage of the process, will immensely prepare students to pursue with their French studies at university level, where they will inevitably be using tenses. It is also suitable for adult learners, again whether they are learning it for the first time or revision.
This folder contains irregular primary verbs in the conditional tense:
Aller
Etre
Faire
Avoir
Prendre
Ouvrir
Boire
Croire
When showing each slide, there is an audio clip on each new item that you can click on and you will hear my voice which demonstrates the pronunciation of each item, or alternatively, you can lead the pronunciation of each item. It is up to you! The learners will then reiterate the new items every time they see the slide 'This time you try it!' You will be very surprised to see how it will stick in their minds!!
I would strongly encourage you to purchase the follow-up activity 'French: Stage 6: The conditional tense', which enables students to manually complete the drills based on what they have learnt. They are £5. Upon completion of Stage 6-8, there are tests also available.
Happy teaching and learning and the very best of luck!!
