This resource exclusively looks at the imperfect tense in French which is introduced at Key Stage 3 level and explores reflexive verbs in the imperfect form.
It also gives students the opportunity to learn how to talk about simultaneous actions in the past, and also revises other previously learnt functions of the imperfect and perfect tense in the form of a quiz.

Welcome to Stage 1: The Present Tense
As I have outlined in all the stages for mastering the tenses in French, I have designed each stage which deals with the necessary tenses and stage 1 is the present tense. I cover a wide range of verbs that I deem necessary in one's learning of the language.
Not only have I made a huge bundle which consists of over 50 verbs in the perfect tense, but the conjugation workbook is also included, which is required from Key stage 3 onwards or whether adults are learning it for the very first time. It is difficult at times to remember the conjugation of the tenses which is why I have designed these activities as means of becoming deeply acquainted with the conjugation. Repetition is the key! There are two tests available which are titled as ‘Partie 1-9: Test au present’ and ‘Partie 1-9a: Test au niveau superieur’. I would recommend taking these tests before commencing ‘Partie 2: Le temps au passe compose’
Here is the twelfth and final installment of the subjunctive.
As you know, mastering the subjunctive is tricky business and it is more geared towards A-Level French. This activity revises the entire functions of the subjunctive in a nutshell as featured in the previous installments and it also focuses on how to form the subjunctive in the past form using reflexive verbs.

This activity basically describes more functions of the subjunctive in a nutshell in terms of questions used expressing doubt which require the subjunctive which use the subjunctive or the indicative such as ‘penses-tu que …’, ‘crois-tu que …’, ‘est-ce que tu penses que …’. It also focuses on how to form the subjunctive in the past form using intransitive verbs.

This activity basically describes more functions of the subjunctive in a nutshell in terms of various other conjunctions such as ‘avant que’, ‘sans que’, ‘pour que’, ‘pourvu que’, etc. It also focuses on more irregular ‘-ir’ verbs such as ‘partir’, ‘sortir’, ‘tenir’, ‘venir’, ‘valoir’ and ‘mourir’ and it contains methods as to how to conjugate these irregular verbs in the present subjunctive form.

As you know, mastering the subjunctive is tricky business and it is more geared towards A-Level French. This activity basically describes more functions of the subjunctive in a nutshell in terms of various other conjunctions such as hypothetical state and expressions using impersonal verbs such as ‘il arrive’, ‘il faut’, ‘il va falloir’, ‘il faudra’, ‘il semble’, etc. It also focuses on reflexive verbs and impersonal verbs such as ‘il pleut’, ‘il faut’, ‘il s’agit’, ‘il vaux mieux’ and various weather expressions as it contains methods as to how to conjugate these reflexive and impersonal verbs in the present subjunctive form.
Part 9 solely focuses on how to form the aforementioned verbs in the subjunctive mood.

This resource is centered on the parts of the body which begin with a vowel or the silent ‘h’ and ailments, in terms of ‘j’ai mal a l’’. Due to its complexity, it is advisable to introduce the different genders of the parts of the body as well as the grammar, week by week.
For the lesson structure:
Go through the powerpoint regarding the parts of the body with the students. You could start with the game ‘Jacques a dit’ (Simon says).
Review the masculine and feminine parts of the body, then introduce the parts which begin with a vowel or the silent ‘h’ and then ‘j’ai mal a l’’.
Get the students to colour in the worksheets. On the first worksheet, get the students to colour in the letters in any colour ‘à + l’’ and ‘a l’’. Then they cut out the pictures and labels and stick them correctly onto the first sheet they coloured in. There are differentiated worksheets for this. The level 1 worksheet only contains ‘j’ai mal a l’epaule, a l’estomac, a l’orteil’. The level 2 worksheets contain the aforementioned items, also including ‘j’ai mal a l’aisselle’.

This resource looks at various European countries in French with their prepositions, such as ‘au’, ‘en’ and ‘aux’. There is a memory game of the prepositions and the names of the European countries in French. You can divide the class up into groups and they can score points for their team for every missing country that they remember. There are also quizzes about the countries and the prepositions used when expressing them. Subsequently, the students then copy out the table and fill in the missing gaps.
There is also an accompanying colouring in poster of the flags of the European countries with a wordsearch. Furthermore, there is a reading comprehension activity attached with differentiated questions.
This resource is geared at Key Stage 3 level.
