I have been teaching Secondary Science since 2006, specialising in Biology. I have worked as a KS3 Co-ordinator, KS4 co-ordinator, Deputy Head of Science and I am now the Head of Science. I have built up so many resources over the years so I hope you find them useful.

Termly Summary and Key Priorities Tracking Document

(1)
Every term I ask my key stage leads to fill this document out for me. It is an excellent way to see how the faculty is progressing each term and makes it much easier to report to SLT. It is a working document and staff are asked to colour rate the key priorities at the end of each term (Red, Amber, Green) in terms of what has been achieved etc. so we can easily see how we have progressed and what still needs to be done.

Science 9-1 Steps Grade Descriptors/Criteria for new GCSE's

(9)
In the absence of any guidance from the exam boards on what the criteria to achieve steps 9-1 will actually look like before the first cohort sit the exams in 2018 , I have had a go at putting something together for my department. As we become more familiar with the specifications and assessment criteria I hope to be able to develop this further. I have also created criteria for students who are yet to hit step 1 but would be demoralised to achieve a 0. In our school we have called these R, S and G steps (G being the lowest step). This could be adapted for your own individual schools.
