(0)
A set of reasoning and problem solving worksheets to use alongside the White Rose Maths scheme. The questions have been differentiated 3 ways, each with an individual sheet of questions for that level. Answers are also included. This set of worksheets is for Year 4, Spring Block 1 (Multiplication and Division), focusing on the eighth and ninth small steps of dividing 2 digits by 1 digit with and without remainders. Details of how it has been differentiated can be found below: • 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to divide 2 digits by 1 digit (2, 3 and 5) with no remainders, using pictoral representations to guide them. • 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to divide 2 digits by 1 digit, with remainders, using pictoral representations to guide them. • 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to divide 2 and 3 digits by 1 digit, with remainders, without pictoral representations. Each worksheet contains a total of 8 questions. These questions could be used as a whole, or cut up into strips of 4 questions for a shorter task. They could also be used for partner work, depending on the ability of the children. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Likewise, I am still developing these resources, so any helpful comments would also be appreciated.

White Rose Maths - Year 4- Spring Block 2 - Making Shapes (Problem Solving and Reasoning)

(0)
A reasoning and problem solving worksheet to use alongside the White Rose Maths scheme. Please note, this resource differs from my others, in that I have chosen not to differentiate it. I made this decision on reflection that all questions are quite open ended and therefore differentiation would happen naturally in the way children went about the questions. Answers are also included. This worksheet is for Year 4, Spring Block 2 (Area), focusing on the third small step of making shapes. As explained above, differentiation is expected to happen more naturally with these tasks, however as a guide, it could be differentiated as follows: • Working Towards Expected Level: These children will focus more on basic shapes of squares and rectangles. • Expected Level: These children will be working with whole squares and squares with a value of 1cm sq but will be using rectilinear shapes. • Working at greater depth: These children could be challenged by asking them to use half squares and making the value of squares greater than 1cm sq. The worksheet contains a total of 6 questions. These questions could be used as a whole, or cut up into strips for a shorter task. They could also be used for partner work, depending on the ability of the children. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Likewise, I am still developing these resources, so any helpful comments would also be appreciated.

White Rose Maths - Year 5 - Addition and Subtraction - Varied Fluency and Problem Solving Practice

3 Resources
Two sets of varied fluency and a set of problem solving and reasoning worksheets to use alongside the White Rose Maths scheme. Both sets of questions have been differentiated 3 ways, each with an individual sheet of questions for that level. Answers are also included. These sets of worksheets are for Year 5, Autumn Block 2 (Addition and Subtraction). Details of how it has been differentiated can be found below: • 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to add and subtract 3 and 4 digit whole numbers and applying this knowledge to a range of problem solving situations, some with more than one step. • 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to add and subtract 4 and 5 digit whole numbers and applying this knowledge to a range of problem solving situations, some with more than one step. • 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to add and subtract 5 and 6 digit whole numbers and applying this knowledge to a range of problem solving situations, some with more than one step. The varied fluency worksheets contain a total of 8 questions, some broken down into parts (a and b) with 2 examples of each question type. This provides children with the varied fluency that White Rose aim for. These questions can be used as a quick starter and cut up so that only the first 4 questions are used, or given as more of a main activity with all 8 questions. They could also be used for partner work, depending on the ability of the children. The problem solving and reasoning worksheet contains a total of 8 questions. These questions could be used as a whole, or cut up into strips of 4 questions for a shorter task. They could also be used for partner work, depending on the ability of the children. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Likewise, I am still developing these resources, so any helpful comments would also be appreciated.

White Rose Maths - Block 3 - Perimeter (Varied Fluency and Problem Solving Practice)

4 Resources
A set of varied fluency and a set of problem solving and reasoning worksheets to use alongside the White Rose Maths scheme. Both sets of questions have been differentiated 3 ways, each with an individual sheet of questions for that level. Answers are also included. This set of worksheets are for Year 4, Autumn Block 3 (Length and Perimeter), focusing on the second, third and fourth small steps of perimeter. Details of how they have been differentiated can be found below: Perimeter on a grid (Varied Fluency): • 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of squares and rectangles on a grid. • 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of rectilinear shapes on a grid. • 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to calculate the perimeter of more complex shapes on a grid. Perimeter of rectangles (Varied Fluency): • 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of a square by using the measurement of one side and also by using the total perimeter to work out the length of one side. Numbers are 1 or 2 digits in cm. • 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of squares and rectangles by using the measurement of one side and also by using the total perimeter to work out the length of one side. Numbers are 2 or 3 digits in cm. • 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to calculate the perimeter of squares and rectangles by using the measurements of one side and also by using the total perimeter to work out the length of one side. Numbers are 1 or 2 digits, including decimals, in m Perimeter of rectilinear shapes (Varied Fluency): • 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of a rectilinear shape made up of 2 rectangles. Measurements are 1/2 digits in cm. • 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to calculate the perimeter of a rectilinear shape made up of 3 rectangles. Measurements are 2/3 digits in cm. • 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to calculate the perimeter of a rectilinear shape made up of 3 rectangles. Measurements are 2/3 digits, including numbers with one decimal place, in m. Perimeter (Problem Solving): • 1 Star sheet (Working Towards Expected Level): Be able to calculate perimeter of squares, rectangles and rectilinear shapes made up of 2 rectangles. Measurements are either 1 or 2 digits and in cm. • 2 Star sheet (Expected Level): Be able to calculate perimeter of squares, rectangles and rectilinear shapes made up of 3 rectangles. Measurements are either 2 or 3 digits and in cm. • 3 Star sheet (Working at greater depth): Be able to calculate perimeter of squares, rectangles and rectilinear shapes made up of 3+ rectangles. Measurements are 2 or 3 digits, including decimals and in m. The varied fluency worksheets contain a total of 8 questions, some broken down into parts (a, b, c etc.) with 2 examples of each question type.
