The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. *** 25 high-frequency Spanish AR verbs, listed alphabetically Spanish-English and English-Spanish ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it particularly useful for exam revision, whether working in class time or at home. It’s useful for advanced beginner Spanish students to provide a language learning map, for intermediate Spanish students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources, and advanced Spanish students as a vocabulary audit and enrichment. The verbs are all in the infinitive form and include regular and irregular Spanish AR verbs. It’s important in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful Spanish verb vocabulary bank, are able to recognize high-frequency Spanish verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in their first or home language. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning. I’ve found that vocabulary lists are a great language learning support resource, and they’re really popular with students too. They work well when students keep them carefully in learning binders or folders for current and future reference, either in class or at home. They also work well printed double-sided and laminated for small-group work in class. The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency Spanish AR verbs for your students, the list is a good starting point. My students find this Spanish AR verbs recall worksheets freebie really helpful: There are two backgrounds to choose from - Spanish flag, which I tend to use for Spanish vocabulary display or Spanish grammar display, and plain. Have a browse in my store for more Spanish vocabulary reference lists, and a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning resources, with Spanish dollar deals, special offer bundles and lots of freebies. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN APRENDIZAJE!

PRIMARY FRENCH KS3 FRENCH FOR CHILDREN TELLING THE TIME ANALOGUE HALF PAST LIST WITH MATCHING CLOCK FACES The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom. The license is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. The resource is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I like to give visual vocabulary lists to my young beginner learners of French, as they can generally more easily assimilate new language and vocabulary when they are able to link it in their memory with a visual image, and it’s particularly important to match a clock time with the corresponding clock face when learning how to tell the time. Children glue the lists into their French vocabulary books, or file them in their French vocabulary folders with other vocabulary lists, which gives them an accessible and useful French vocabulary reference bank for both class and home learning. For young and / or beginner French learners, I focus initially on a single time set, and this list shows half past the hour on a single page. This is because in my experience students benefit from a very clear outline of new language and vocabulary, avoiding lots of text on a single page - even my older students who are completely new to French prefer this. When I’m sure that students are confident with a particular time set, I then move on to additional time sets. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag, which I use for French vocabulary display, or plain. My students find this telling the time in French half past the hour worksheets really useful: TELLING THE TIME IN FRENCH HALF PAST THE HOUR WORKSHEETS: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-telling-the-time-half-past-worksheets-freebie-12867105 Have a look at this reference guide for telling the time in French, every analogue clock time with matching clock faces: (£3): FRENCH TELLING THE TIME REFERENCE GUIDE https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-telling-time-reference-book-12644907 Have a browse in my store for more French visual vocabulary lists, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning materials, with French resource boxes, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. The product is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply. I encourage my beginner Italian students of all ages and stages to build up comprehensive vocabulary banks that they can reference easily whenever they need it, and they’re also really useful for regular vocabulary audits, which really helps students map their progress and keep track of their learning. Students take responsibility for organising their own learning materials from the very beginning of their learning, keeping them carefully in vocabulary learning files or folders. My students all have reference resource binders or files - these can have a range of formats - for instance, sticking into a large exercise book, or punching holes down the left-hand side, and adding to files. We also use twine or thick string, which young Italian learners really enjoy making. I also use this kind of vocabulary list for quick vocabulary quizzes, spelling competitions and so on, and it also works well laminated for small-group work in class time. The font size is fairly large, as ensuring that language is clear and accessible is essential for beginner language learners, as they begin to familiarize themselves with words and spelling systems in a new language. I have also uploaded a number reference sheet I give my more experienced Italian learners - it’s in landscape format, with all the numbers on a single sheet, so the font size is smaller - students who’ve been learning Italian for a while are comfortable with quite a lot of text on a single page. SPANISH-SPEAKING & PORTUGUESE-SPEAKING COUNTRIES POSTERS

SPANISH-SPEAKING & PORTUGUESE-SPEAKING COUNTRIES POSTERS

(2)
BEGINNER SPANISH INTERMEDIATE SPANISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES & PORTUGUESE-SPEAKING POSTERS FLASHCARDS 62 posters / flashcards featuring 21 Spanish-speaking countries and 10 Portuguese-speaking countries with the countries, capital cities and flags, in Spanish. I've found having the posters in my classroom provides an instant introduction to the scope of the Spanish-speaking world, and seeing the countries where Portuguese, rather than Spanish, is spoken, prevents them confusing the two from the very beginning of their learning - my students do often tend to get them a little mixed up! The posters are great for reading, speaking and pronunciation prompts too. I often ask quick questions such as ¿Cuál es la capital de...?, ¿Sí o no? Madrid es la capital de Paraguay? or ¿Se habla español o portugués en Brasil? - there are lots of questioning and speaking opportunities, using the posters as visual prompts. Speaking does tend to be quite a challenging skill, particularly for beginner language learners, so getting the most from classroom decor to encourage students to speak is really important. This works particularly with my beginner Spanish classes, as it's a great way of encouraging them to speak, and to construct sentences, from the very beginning of their Spanish program. I've often found that there can be several (or more!) countries that students don't actually know, or have never heard of, and the posters are really useful for helping them develop their general understanding and knowledge of the wider world. There are two backgrounds to choose from: Spanish / Portuguese flag or plain. Laminate them if you can, as they hang really well, are easier to manipulate as flashcards, and definitely last in great condition for years. Have a browse in my store for more Spanish-speaking countries resources, with a wide range of other Spanish teaching and learning resources, with Spanish dollar deals, special offer bundles and lots of freebies. Sopas de letras are a fabulous way of encouraging students to engage with the written word in Spanish, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This freebie set features two differentiated word searches, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. They focus on a range of countries where Spanish is an official language, with reference to a number of countries where a significant number of the population speak Spanish as their first or second language. The word searches really do help students develop their knowledge and awareness of the Spanish-speaking world, and just how widely Spanish is spoken around the globe. The word searches work well across the school year, not only when you’re focusing on Spanish-speaking countries. I use them as starters, refreshers, plenaries, fun-time fillers and for cover lessons quite regularly, as this helps embed students’ learning, and they genuinely enjoy putting their memory to the test! They find that this way of working really does help them to develop their confidence and embed the vocabulary into their longer-term memory. There are lots of games and activities to play, and I’ve described several that are successful with my groups. They love to quiz and test themselves and each other on a regular basis - it’s a very popular alternative to more traditional vocabulary ‘drilling tasks’. The target vocabulary includes essential beginner Spanish words and phrases in the following vocabulary groups: = Los saludos = Los días de la semana = Los meses y las estaciones del año = Los números 0-20 = Mi familia = Palabras frecuentes = Frases útiles para la clase = Preguntas y respuestas The 18-page reference, recall and write workbook gives students a different way of consolidating their vocabulary - writing it out really helps to embed language, and is great for spelling too. The product is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be coped, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only, Please read the Terms of Use. I think that lessons in the run-up to Christmas provide the perfect opportunity to revisit language we’re learnt earlier in the school year - my beginner French students really enjoy going back over and consolidating the vocab that they were introduced to right at the beginning of their learning. I created various sets of Christmas-themed vocab cards to get them feeling festive - it definitely works! I tend to have several sets all ready, and keep them in learning folders, so that students can choose which vocab groups they want to work on, though often, they like to work with the complete set, so it’s a good idea to have a couple of sets so that there are enough to go round. The Santas have vocabulary in the following word groups: Les salutations Les jours de la semaine Les mois de l’année Les quatre saisons de l’année Les nombres 0 à 31 Les couleurs Quelques pays du monde The Snowmen have vocabulary in the following word groups: Les animaux (indefinite article, all singular) Les parties du corps (definite article, range of singular and plural) Le temps Les fruits et légumes (definite article) Les matières scolaires (definite article) There are a lot of cards, which means some prep - if you can, laminate them, not only because they’re far better to learn with, but also because you’ll be able to use them over and over again for years! The quizzes are no-prep, and good to go - they’re non-editable, because of the Terms of Use of the clipart and fonts I’ve used, so have a quick look through before you play. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. I have, Who has... ? is a great language learning game. The repetitive nature of the questions and answers, supported by the visual prompt of the animals images, makes it perfect for practicing, reinforcing and refreshing a range of animals in Latin. It’s a whole-group communicative game, with a multi-skill focus on speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary-building and developing language confidence. The game really does help to create a lively language learning environment, and is a great alternative to more traditional 'drilling' activities. It doesn't matter if some of the words don't feature in your immediate or longer-term learning plan: the aim of the game is to encourage children to engage happily and confidently with both the written and spoken word in Latin. The game works well during your work with the animal kingdom in Latin, and as an all-year-round s tarter and refresher game - along the way, children may even get to know some new animals! There are two games, and two challenges: Challenge One: with the words written out in full in alphabetical order Challenge Two: with the words in topsy-turvy order, and with only the first letter given, which is great for a memory work-out, and really encourages children to focus on the individual words, as well as the gender of each word. There is a visual prompt to help children remember the correct word. The gender is also given, as an additional opportunity to reinforce the concept of gender. There are 30 animals in the set, including both masculine and feminine (this set of animals doesn't actually feature any with neuter gender), which is a really useful engagement with the concept of gender: * bear * bee * bird * bull * cat * cow * dinosaur * dog * donkey * * elephant * fish * fox * frog * hedgehog * horse * giraffe * goose * * kangaroo * lion * mouse * owl * panda bear * polar bear * rabbit * * rat * sheep * snake * spider * whale * zebra * GRATIA PLENA ET CARPE DIEM!

Dominoes games are really versatile in language learning, useful during the introduction phase of learning, as well as for cover lessons, as starters, warm-ups, plenaries, practice & refresh, and also free-choice activity time - I have folders with a variety of resources ready for students to select particular content according to what area they feel they’d like to work on. Laminate if you can - the dominoes are far more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years. There are three games, each with a different challenge: Challenge One: times in numerical order, time phrase to clock face Challenge Two: times in random order, time phrase to clock face Challenge Three: times in random order, clock face to time phrase Have a browse in my store for a wide range of German resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. PRIMARY SPANISH FACTS ABOUT SPAIN YEAR 7 SPAIN COUNTRY FACTS & ACTIVITIES Files are non-editable in a zipped format. They may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. The activities really do help to create a lively language learning environment for young learners of Spanish, and offer a popular alternative to more traditional, teacher-led ’information about Spain’ lessons. Children can develop their knowledge of the Hispanic world - and through guided whole-group discussion - their home / host country too, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, in part independently of the teacher. There is a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling, and is a great way of aligning language learning with developing literacy skills in English. The resource comprises the following non-editable files: * 20 facts cards - there are four facts in each of the following topic groups: geography, country, landmarks, language and food. There are blank templates for children to research and create their own facts cards for each other. * Facts recording sheet challenge level 1 - there are two options: either two or four fact recording boxes per page. Children read their selected facts, and copy the information in the boxes. * Facts recording sheet challenge level 2 - there are also two options: two or four fact recording boxes in this challenge level. However, there is a more open-ended task: responding to the question “What did you learn?”. This requires children to read their fact card, process the information, and then recreate it in their own words, describing the fact in the context of what they have learned. * 28 question / comprehension cards — the questions have a differentiated range of challenge, and are based on the knowledge developed through the whole-group presentation and discussion, and the facts cards. There is one ’independent research’ question, which I use as a springboard for further discussion based on children’s own developing interests about Spain. There are blank templates here too - creating questions is a great way to think about and apply knowledge and learning. * question / comprehension cards recording sheet * whole-group facts presentation & discussion ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN VIAJE!

GEOGRAPHY EUROPE COUNTRY CARDS

KS3 GEOGRAPHY KS4 EUROPE COUNTRIES, CAPITAL CITIES & FLAGS GAMES CARDS perfect for developing knowledge and locational understanding of Europe the game cards provide great learning opportunities for any appropriate age group, at any time of the school year! Students can develop their knowledge of the geography of Europe in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. There are 60 flag cards, and 60 country with capital city cards, featuring all European countries, capital cities and flags. There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the games help them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of Europe. I’ve also included a range of islands, such as the Faroe Islands, to extend students’ knowledge of Europe a little further, as well as several countries, for example Armenia, that are often classed as belonging either to Europe or to Asia. Great as a regular starter, refresher or plenary activity at any time of the school to really embed knowledge, as well as being a core learning resource when introducing Europe - playing in teams against a timer is really popular - students love to see if they can beat their own time record. There is a country, capital city and flag reference list of all countries and capitals, which students find useful to read through before playing - allow them only 60 seconds on a timer to really focus their reading and increase the sense of competition if you are playing competitive team games! It can also be used as a year-round reference resource, which students can file in their workbooks or learning folders. There is also a full set of country and capital labels - labeling the flags with their respective countries and capitals is a really good way of consolidating learning. Laminate the cards, labels and reference sheets if you can - it’s definitely a lot of prep, but it’s well worth it, as not only are the materials far more learner-friendly, they also last for absolutely years. The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed in any way. PRIMARY SPANISH TELLING THE TIME DOMINOES KS3 SPANISH TELLING THE TIME DOMINOES ANALOGUE CLOCK TIMES Files are non-editable in a zipped format. This resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. Dominoes games are an ideal language learning activity, and a lively alternative to more traditional practice and consolidation activities. These games will help students build up and embed their knowledge of how to tell the time in Spanish in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. Students can work happily challenging themselves and each other to create a perfect domino time sequence line. The game has a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, and reading. There are three games, each with a slightly different level of challenge: Challenge One features a range of clock times,o’clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past the hour - students tend to learn those clock times first, so it’s good to have a real focus on them to ensure students are confident with the general concept of telling the time in Spanish. I’ve used en punto to express o’clock, but I point out to students that it’s not absolutely necessary, and they’ll see Es la una for example, perhaps even more frequently than Es la una en punto, which tends to convey a certain emphasis. The time phrase appears first, followed by the clock face. Challenge Two features a range of all analogue clock times, and is a slightly longer game than Challenge One. Again, the time phrase appears first, followed by the clock face. Challenge Three also features a range of analogue clock times, and is the same size as Challenge Two. In this challenge, the clock face appears first, followed by the time phrase, which works slightly differently on recall, and really does help to consolidate knowledge. There’s definitely prep involved - download, print out, and laminate. Laminating is definitely worth the extra time and expense, because the dominoes are far more learner-friendly, and will last in excellent condition for years. The background design on each challenge is different, allowing students to identify which challenge the individual dominoes belong to.
