This is a freebie to assess the quality of my work. It is the digitalised Google Classroom version of my anerobic respiration lesson. (It is put on google slides so that students can easily edit the work and Turn it in. The lesson can be put as a google classroom assignment instantly, just make sure to remove any instructional pages. The majority of the lesson is based on the Activate scheme of work; however, it can easily be integrated into Explore learning and other schemes of work. It can even be used for a foundation and lower ability GCSE class. It can easily be adapted to suit different GCSE sets by adding exam questions or using Kerboodle worksheets. KS3 Activity AQA Activate 2.1.3 Series and parallel circuits This is a digitalised activity which if set as “Students edit thier own copy” on Microsoft Teams or on Google Classroom, you can watch students edit their own copy. it is designed to take the student through the whole topic as per the 2.1.3 Series and parallel circuits. I have tried and tested this activity on both set 1 and 3. It has been designed to be used as a mixed ability activity. It can also be completely self-assessed by the students using the self-assessment toolbox on the side which students can drag and drop the ticks and crosses. Perfect of teachers who are overwhelmed with online teaching and need simple activities for their students to get through.

Teaching respiration can be hard for several reasons, for one, the separation between the chemical and physical process of breathing can often confuse. As well as this SEND students can usually find the content of typical lessons weighty, this lesson really simplifies the concepts of respiration and breaks them down, as well as this the Practicals such as breathing on a mirror and the limewater experiment get students to physically to see the products of respiration which really solidifies their understanding of the process. The lesson starts with a concept cartoon with common misconceptions surrounding respiration- which can give you an overall idea of what your students’ ideas are on respiration right at the start of the lesson. The majority of the lesson is based on the Activate scheme of work; however, it can easily be integrated into Explore learning and other schemes of work. It can even be used for a foundation and lower ability GCSE class. It can easily be adapted to suit different GCSE sets by adding exam questions or using Kerboodle worksheets.
