Crude Oil & Fuels Workbook (Revision/Independent Learning/Classroom Use)

(1)
I created this workbook for my students when studying crude oil (hydrocarbons, alkanes/alkenes, displayed/molecular/general/empirical formulae, properties of hydrocarbons e.g. boiling point/viscosity/flammability, complete/incomplete combustion, cracking and testing for alkenes). I have tried to include concise, clear notes for students to refer to, plus practice questions. There is a section for students to write down key definitions (most of these are indicated clearly within the text). I hope it is useful for you!

Periodic Table Workbook (Revision/Independent Learning/Classroom Use)

(0)
I created this workbook for my students when studying periodic table (modern periodic table, history of the periodic table, group 1, transition metals, group 7 including displacement reactions, group 0). I have tried to include concise, clear notes for students to refer to, and some practice questions. There is a section for students to write down key definitions (most of these are indicated clearly within the text). I hope it is useful for you!
Electrolysis Introduction - Research/Summary Sheet

Electrolysis Introduction - Research/Summary Sheet

(0)
Worksheet covering electrolysis equipment, anions/cations and their movement, and the uses of electrolysis. I used this with an information hunt but you could use it with laptop research or as a revision summary sheet. Designed with OCR 21st Century Science in mind but could be used for most specifications.

Earth Early Atmosphere Storyboard, Cloze, Exam-Style Questions

(1)
Selection of activities for teaching about the earth’s early atmosphere and how it changed, including a storyboard with answers, cloze activity with answers, and 2 exam-style questions (short questions or a 6-mark) with suggested mark schemes. Covers 4.9.1.2 of AQA GCSE Chemistry (the earth’s early atmosphere).

Energy Changes Workbook (Revision/Independent Learning/Classroom Use)

(1)
I created this workbook for my students when studying energy changes (exothermic/endothermic reactions, uses/applications, energy level diagrams, breaking/making bonds, bond energy/overall energy change calculations, planning to investigate temperature change). I have tried to include concise, clear notes for students to refer to, and lots of practice questions. There is a section for students to write down key definitions (most of these are indicated clearly within the text). I hope it is useful for you!
Rock Cycle Differentiated Remote Learning Tasks

Rock Cycle Differentiated Remote Learning Tasks

(0)
3 tasks I set my Y7 and Y8 students for remote learning about the Rock Cycle. The students all drew the diagram of the rock cycle in their book. Higher ability annotated it with the clues AND added extra detail via the stretch questions, middle ability annotated without the stretch questions. I have included my attempt/modelling, which I attached to assist students with this task. Low ability drew a simpler diagram and copied & completed a gap fill (very low reading ages - some pre-reception). High and mid ability then wrote a story/created a storyboard to describe the journey of a piece of rock at point 1, all the way through the cycle to point 12. This was followed by a Kahoot challenge and an educake quiz. Rock Cycle Remote Learning 1 - higher ability Rock Cycle Remote Learning 2 - middle ability Rock Cycle Remote Learning 3 - lower ability I have attached them as both PPT and PDF in case students have difficulty opening PPT at home.
Calculating Relative Atomic Mass - Lesson

Calculating Relative Atomic Mass - Lesson

(0)
Basic lesson on calcluating relative atomic mass (Ar) for AQA GCSE Chemistry/Combined Science Quantitative Chemistry (Calculations) unit. I have not included correcting answers to the right amount of significant figures on slide 8 as I know some people may not want to discuss this yet, you can change them to the correct number of SF if you wish.
Types of Reactions (Oxidation, Combustion, Decomposition, Displacement) Differentiated Task

Types of Reactions (Oxidation, Combustion, Decomposition, Displacement) Differentiated Task

(0)
Activity in which students sort the statements into categories according to which type of reaction they are. Print out the slide of statements and they write them in the appropriate column. There is a pre-made table for students who this would benefit, and one slide where the statements are pre-coloured into categories - they just need to figure out which colour of statements apply to which reaction. There is also a differentiated gap fill activity for students who would struggle to access the sorting activity, and an answer sheet for this.
Structure, Bonding & Properties Information Sheet

Structure, Bonding & Properties Information Sheet

(0)
Information sheet on how the structure and bonding of ionic, covalent and metallic compounds influence their properties. Each section includes an example exam question. Designed for AQA GCSE Combined Science Trilogy C3 topic (Structure, Bonding & Properties of Matter). Could be used as part of an independent learning task.
