A selection of interactive spreadsheets to assist pupils with basic number concepts. Activities include counting on, counting back and high/low exercises.
The presentation is designed to be used primarily with upper key stage 2 children but may be adapted as appropriate.
It is intended that the package be used over a series of lessons, with a number of mathematical problems having to be solved at strategic points.
All of the activities have a whole class teacher led input with some lessons then leading on to additional activities for the children.
This unit is made up of three mini interactive activities focusing on the properties of 3D shapes. The first activity is based on Euler’s theory. The pupils need to find a rule that links the faces, edges and vertices together. The interactive activity allows them to manipulate the shapes on screen to count the faces, edges and vertices. The second activity has them using their knowledge of the properties of 3D shapes to form a polyhedral chain. The third activity allows the pupils to investigate which edges will meet when a net folds to form a 3D shape.

This interactive application has been designed to teach pupils to accurately estimate and draw a bearing. The application allows the practice of drawing bearings and the estimation of bearings. A worksheet is provided in both PDF and Word. Follow the links to the Cymru website to use interactive activities.

There is also a starter and plenary.
A Maths support programme based on yearly tests which focus on key objectives. There is a test for pupils in each of the years 2 to 6 and each test has been designed around the key objectives in the previous year’s programme of study.
The intention is that the pupils’ performance on the test would serve as a diagnostic tool for identifying areas of the previous year’s work which require further development for certain pupils.
The mark sheet allows for 3 assessments to be averaged using a weighted mean then levelled via % to a NC level. The markbook also contains a timer and a hyperlinked FrontPage to resources. PLEASE NOTE: You will need to have the ‘Analysis toolpak’ and ‘VBA analysis toolpak’ installed in order to run these sheets correctly. These might have been installed initially when Excel was installed for the first time but, if not, you will need your original MS Office disk. To install them, select ‘Tools’ , then ‘add ins’. Put a tick in the two boxes next to each toolpack.
