An online lesson that can easily be adapted to in class - looking at the Big 5 animals in Africa. Students can make fact-files on each animal and then present/swap before judging each animal.
This lesson requires research for pupils to do. Begins with a fact-file about Ghana and looks at exports in Ghana. There is a quiz for pupils to assess their knowledge.

First lesson for Topic 8 (Forests Under Threat) with the GCSE Geography Edexcel B specification. This builds on Topic 7 and looks at TRF layers, plant adaptations and specific animal adaptations linked to the rainforest.
Lesson 8 looks at methods to conserve the taiga biome. 3 are considered - national parks, wilderness areas and selective forestry. Pupils then consider reasons to conserve or exploit the taiga biome
Lesson 3 for Topic 8 looking at direct threats and indirect threats to the Tropical Rainforest. Linked to the specification pupils discuss, identify and explain the different type of threats with a link to biodiversity.
