This double-lesson PowerPoint will allow you to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lessons on Methods of Separation and Purification, including filtration, evaporation & crystallisation, simple distillation and fractional distillation. The resources allow delivery of one lesson covering the required theory for each separation technique, then an optional second lesson where the pupils use filtration and evaporation as part of a purification process (distillation is carried out by the students in a separate Core Practical lesson). Full equipment lists are provided for the teacher demonstrations and class practical tasks.
