Children are encouraged to use their senses as well as simile and onomatopoeia to create a poem all about fire. this would fit in very well with Bonfire Night, the Stone Age, Fire of London or Halloween. Children can write their poetic phrases onto flames and build up their poem like a real bonfire. This makes for a wonderful class display.
