A selection of Christmas vocabulary learning sheets for Year 7. They should fill at least one whole lesson. If you like this, have a look at my pack of Christmas resources for Years 7 to 11. You’ll never need to scrabble around for different stuff as each year group has different content overall so can be used each year. (A wise investment.) May also be useful for cover lessons around Christmas time.

French Y7 Term 1.1 Speaking/Writing Assessment A simple assessment with the flexibility to be used for speaking and/or writing. It begins with a model answer by Harry Potter with key words to change underlined. Learners can then use the model to write about themselves, so it suits low ability.

A ten page document for primary pupils or low ability KS3. Covers bonjour, name, numbers 1-20 and age. Animal characters provide stimulating images.

A "Tarsia" game. You'll need to install "Tarsia" first. Then pupils match up the English and French phrases into a shape. You can tell them the shape to help them!

Noël: A pack of French Christmas resources for years 7 to 11. 5 or more sheets per year group which eliminates the need to scrabble around every year as they are all different. Starts basic for Y7 with vocabulary based sheets/word search etc and by Y11 they have some multiple choice reading comprehension to do. If you can’t fit these in to your SoW, why not use them for French club, HW or just for keen beans! I’ve included a PDF of everything plus another copy which has hints/tips/answers also brought over from the original. Note: they print landscape.

Little tickets for use in the French classroom. Use as you wish as tokens/rewards. I give them for speaking and collect them in for a draw at the end of a lesson or week. Write names on back. Winners receive rewards according to your school system.

Some ideas for those pupils who find target-setting for themselves difficult. Could be adapted for any MFL.

A set of phrases in English and French to match up to deduce perfect tense pattern with avoir. Lots of cutting to do, I’m afraid! Then a quiz sheet to see what they’ve learnt after you’ve told them how it works! Simple! :/

Spanish Easter Booklet Year 7 / Grade 6 Spanish Easter vocabulary: This is an 8 page booklet of basic Spanish Easter vocabulary matching, colouring and puzzles with answers. It is appropriate as a stand-alone document to introduce Easter vocabulary. Alternatively, it could supplement your learning on festivals. You can use each of the 8 sheets independently as needed within your lessons or print as an A4 booklet ready for your learners to work through. The booklet begins with a cover page to colour in to help settle your group. In-built differentiation or challenge working through the Easter booklet means that all children should be able to access the learning independently, allowing you to help those who most need it. It would therefore also work well as a cover lesson. For extension and challenge, you could: • Ask learners to write a paragraph about why they like or dislike Easter • Say what they receive at Easter, what they do and where they go • Prepare an Easter card for a friend, teacher or relative using their new vocabulary • Make an Easter board game • Write about why Easter is an important festival • Research the differences between Easter in their country and France and write a summary in English or the TL.
