Pre test Interim assessment framework tick sheets for KS1 and KS2

For this year's SATS tests, the teacher assessments for both years 2 and 6 need to be done using the government produced interim assessment framework. If children are working below the level of the test (but are not SEND) their assessments will be done using the pre key stage interim assessments. In this resource, I have taken the statements from each of the Key stages and made them into a table, enabling teachers to record whether or not the children meet the standards on them. The form can be used to simply tick. Or teachers could use it to put dates on and reference where the evidence for this statement can be found. I did this as there seem to be plenty of tables for the interim assessments but not for the pre test statements. I hope you find it useful

34 days worth of morning maths questions (10 each day) A selection of arithmetic questions comprising of all 4 number operations which I used to do with my class every morning. I used them to warm up before a maths lesson and as an AFL opportunity They were originally done for a year 4 class, but with the change in the national curriculum would now be more suitable for year 3 or higher ability year 2 I used these in Autumn term 2. They could also be used as mini tests, 'i'm finished' activities or homework

This bundle incorporates all of each terms worth of morning maths activities, so you get a whole year of daily maths. While getting progressively harder as the year goes on, the questions also go back and revisit basic skills which need to be practised. Originally planned for a year 4 class, these mixed arithmetic questions would be now suitable for year 3/4 or higher ability year 2s They can be used as a morning activity, warm up starter, homework or test.

Child friendly TAFF checklist years 5 and 6

I developed this resource so that my children could fully understand what is expected of them when they are writing. They can use it to self or peer assess. It gives a breakdown of the TAFF with short explanations to remind the children what the features are. I found it better to use this from the beginning of the year to give children time to demonstrate their abilities, to give me time to collect evidence and I also use it to plug the gaps in their learning. I hope you find it as useful as i do

A 4 week, English unit of work based around Beowulf for years 5/6

In this unit, the children will work have experience of the original poem and a simplified version of the story. They will complete 3 extended writing pieces (1 character description, 1 diary entry and 1 narrative) They will revise and use figurative language, modal verbs, passive voice, cohesive devises and conjunctions. They will see examples of text which have all the requirements needed to achieve EXP on the TAFF. I found this unit to be very beneficial in the run up to SATS.
