Year 3/4 Back 2 Basics Activity Cards - Spring Term Pack. With this termly pack you will receive 12 weeks of activities. The activity cards for the whole term will be available to download on purchase. Back 2 Basics is a carousel of activities aimed at giving children regular practice at the basic skills of reading, writing and number work. Each activity is planned to last approximately 10-15 minutes, and is ideal to be completed first thing in the morning or straight after lunch. The children complete one activity every day so it is best to create 5 groups within your classroom. As the teacher you can then decide which group you work with - for example you may like to work with the reading group. The activities include: Reading Activity (linked to the reading assessment focuses) Number Activity Word or Sentence activity (can be linked to weekly spellings) Times Table Activity Handwriting Activity These cards are best printed and laminated so that they can be used throughout the week and again the following year. Each week consists of 5 activity cards (one for every day of the week) They are not differentiated but some of the activities do have challenges to stretch early finishers. Magic at Maths - Autumn Term Pack. With this termly pack you will receive 12 weeks of activities. Each week there are 5 activities. Note these are not inline with the new National Curriculum but still offer appropriate practice and revision. Our 'Magic at Maths' activity pack provides children with daily practice at a range of maths topics. Each terms pack comes with 12 weeks of activities with five activities per week all covering the KS2 mathematics curriculum. For example week 1 of the autumn pack includes: Addition Fractions of Numbers Measures Ordering Decimals Sequences. Each activity has at least three questions to answer all displayed on the same page. Therefore each page is only designed to take 5 minutes meaning these activities are perfect to complete at the beginning of a maths lesson, first thing in the morning or straight after lunch. Built up over the term it will really consolidate the mathematics skills of your class and is perfect for SATs revision. These activities are aimed at children in years 5/6 and can be completed on paper or in books.

Each plan contains a 'reading and responding to the text' activity which is designed to be completed with the class teacher with the reading group. There are then follow up independent activities which the children can then complete during the remainder of the week. All of these activities are closely linked to the new National Curriculum objectives and these are listed at the beginning of each plan. Each plan also has a list of difficult words which the children can check the meaning of before the teacher led session, space to list the names of the children who are working on the text and a space for a teacher notes and evaluation. The plans have been written by an experienced primary school teacher and have been tried and tested in the classroom.

Year 5 Magic at Maths - Mastery Activities. Over 50 different questions and activities to help you assess whether a child has mastered the Year 5 National Curriculum. Perfect for plenaries and extension activities. The new National Curriculum is all about studying concepts in greater depth and applying knowledge and understanding to different areas of mathematics. The term 'mastery' is one that is being discussed widely in the educational word currently and this includes gaining a general agreed consensus of what it means to 'master' the curriculum. At the PTRC we have used the NAHT KPIs to come up with a variety of activities to help you assess whether children in your class have mastered the curriculum. Many of the activities require the children to explain their reasoning as well as apply their knowledge and skills across a range of topic areas. Included in this PowerPoint is 16 slides covering 16 of the key Year 5 learning objectives from the new National Curriculum (see pictures for example slides). The objectives are detailed in the notes section of each PowerPoint slide for easy reference. There is also a slide introducing the pack, providing you with what we believe mastery to be and giving you some ideas of how to use the PowerPoint slides. The pack is aimed at children in years 5 but can be used with other pupils throughout the Primary phase.
