A mechanism is a device which takes an input motion or force, and outputs a different motion and force. In this lesson, students will learn about different mechanisms such as pulleys, gears and levers. They will see how each works in everyday life and learn the science behind them. They will be asked to identify which mechanism from the images and will complete a quiz mid-way through to check understanding. They will then carry out an experiment creating their own levers before designing their own machines using what they have learnt.
