Write the Room with 2D apple shape cards
Worksheets A to D (differentiated) with guidelines, without guidelines and trace over shape words.
Direction: Laminate the 2D shape cards (17) and cut out. Place the cards around the classroom. Ensure each student has the same worksheet letter, e.g. Worksheet A, with clipboard and pencil. As students move around the class individually or as a pair, they find the matching shapes that are on their worksheet and write the name of the shapes. When they complete a worksheet, you can give out the next worksheet and repeat the activity.
As well as counting 2D apples shapes on trees, there is a crack the code vowel activity. In place of vowels are autumn pictures which students work out using the code table to write the name of the shapes.
This is a lovely autumn product which you can also use all year round to review shapes. You can extend the activities by asking students to count the sides of the shapes and which shapes have curved and/or straight sides.

Some preparation is required: Laminate and cut out cards for different activities in small groups or whole class. The cards are in colour and black and white so that you can print onto coloured card paper.
Some students may be able to think of similar words to sad, e.g. unhappy, glum and so I have included a worksheet on synonyms (matching up words with the same/similar meaning) - words that students use everyday.
You can incorporate these worksheets and practical activities into your social skills and literacy lessons and hand out the worksheets as homework.

This resource relates to CVC phonic word work. These are worksheets you can use to supplement your work on CVC words using the medial vowels a, e, i, o and u. The worksheets are in colour and black and white.

2 Sets of Aa-Zz puzzle pieces – Cut/paste
Aa-Zz -Matching letters of the alphabet to pictures
Aa-Zz - Tracing over letters and matching to pictures
Cut and Paste to match Puzzle pieces
Place a selection of Aa – Zz puzzle sheets on tables for children to cut out and match upper and lower case letters and stick into workbook or on a separate sheet of paper.
They can trace inside the letters with different color pencils or crayons (rainbow tracing).
For the uppercase part of the puzzle ask students to write words beginning with capital letters such as their name if it begins with that letter, a city, day or month, a place of interest etc and draw pictures.
For the lowercase part of the puzzle, ask students to write and draw things beginning with that letter that does not always begin with a capital letter.

Matching letters to pictures and color activity
‘Aa is for’ to ‘Zz is for’ activity – tell children they need to color in the picture that begins with that letter and not to color in the other pictures.

Students can play in pairs. A timer can be set to make the game more fun.
