A Country in Africa Fact File

A Country in Africa Fact File

(0)
The idea for this worksheet is that the children select a country from Africa to research and fill in the geographical facts. For example, population, capital, languages, land area, currency, religion etc. There is also a space for drawing and colouring in the flag and the background of the worksheet is a map of Africa, so children can also draw an arrow and/or colour in their chosen country. The worksheet helps children gain a broader perspective of the world and a chance to compare to their own country. It’s also a great starting point for a more in depth study of a particular country. The document is fully editable so you can change any information you please.

Flags, Countries & Continents Worksheet

(0)
This set is made up of three different worksheets. Each one has five different flags in the middle and on either side of the flags are the corresponding country and continent names (not in order). The objective is for the children to look up the country in an atlas or on the internet and then discover its flag and continent. They then need to colour the flag correctly and draw arrows to join up the flags to the correct country name and continent. See the image preview to get a better idea of how it works. It’s a great activity to get the children using book and internet resources independently. The download includes a fully editable DOC as well as a PDF.

This document is made up of three differentiated versions of a worksheet where children use the words in the table to label a diagram of the digestive system. The parts are the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine and rectum. Easy - Label 6 parts of the digestive system using the words from the table. **Medium **- Label 8 parts of the digestive system using the words from the table. Hard - Complete the words in the table and then label 8 parts of the digestive system. Each worksheet is fully editable and the whole thing was designed so a copy could be made in Google Classrooms and children can complete it by typing in the text boxes provided.

Digestion in Humans - Order the Stages [Suitable for Online]

(0)
This worksheet is split into two parts. The first involves putting the stages of digestion in order from 1-7 and the second part involves highlighting the key organs in each part and then naming the five parts shown. This worksheet is suitable for both online work (as a doc shared in Google Classroom for example) and as a printed worksheet. A black and white copy is available on the second page for the latter. Extra Ideas to Accompany: Upon review have the children point to a diagram or model and talk through the process. Have the children make a model of the digestive system using plastercine, fabrics or even junk around the house or garden. Why not download one of my other digestive system worksheets.

Board Game Instructions Challenge

Board Game Instructions Challenge

(0)
In this activity, children are expected to take an unknown board game called Minefield, figure out a way to play it and write the gaming instructions. The main board is provided with counters and peace signs. This works well as a team activity, as a lot of discussion needs to go into figuring out what the game play and any other equipment will be before the rules are written up. The children really loved this challenge, especially when they knew there were actually no right or wrong ways (or any way in existence) to play it. The main objective though is to try and design the game play in such a way that is both straight-forward, challenging and fun. Lots of critical thinking skills involved in the discussion stages of the activity. It’s amazing how many variants of how to play the game that the children come up with. Of course, in the end, they all get to play each others version and can decide themselves which one they enjoy the best. I hope your children love doing this activity as much as mine did!
Country Fact File Worksheet - Thailand

Country Fact File Worksheet - Thailand

(0)
This fact finding worksheet is made up of 10 statements about the human and physical geography of Thailand. Each statement has 1-3 blanks that the children have to fill in through either prior knowledge or researching on the internet or in books. The final section of the worksheet is a word search which contains many of the answers and other words too. Then the worksheet finished up with an open question about whether they would like to visit Thailand and why or why not. The worksheet serves as a nice introduction to various facts about Thailand and requires the children to think about what search terms to use to find the information they need effectively. I usually have the children work in pairs for this as they can bounce ideas off each other, discuss and divide the statements up between them. You can even provide a certain statement to each student in the class and then have them share their findings at the end for others to record.

A3 Board Game & Question Cards [Fully Editable]

(0)
This is a fully editable A3 board game and question cards set. The style is a mishmash of a Snakes and Ladders and a famous video game. All the children need is a die and counters (which could be anything from a eraser to a coin). The questions on the cards can be typed or written up by either you or the children. The great thing about this game template is its versatility. You can use it to review anything from comprehension questions in literacy to word problems in maths. If a child lands on a question space, they select a question card and if they answer it correctly then they get to roll again. Also spread around the board are vines (for going up) and pipes (for going down). You can easily move these around or edit as suits your needs. My children really love playing this game and enjoy making their own question cards if there is time. I hope you and yours enjoy it too! If you do, please take a moment to review it. Thank you.
Multiplication Word Problems

Multiplication Word Problems

(0)
10 multiplication word problems involving 1-digit and 2-digit numbers. The first 6 involved no exchanging but the final 4 do. The questions increase in complexity as they progress, leading up to 2 and even 3-step solutions. Numbers are all written as words and pictures are included for each question as well as enough space for the children to show their working and answer. Here is an example question: Alex bought five packets of cookies to share with his friends. Each packet contained eleven cookies but the last one had three missing because his sister had eaten them. In the end, how many cookies did Alex have in total? This worksheet can be printed off or even set for the children to do online as a Google Doc. The content is fully editable so you can easily change question content.
Top Secret Code Activity

Top Secret Code Activity

Add that extra bit of interest by providing messages, facts or instructions as a top secret code! Works great as a lesson starter or as a breakdown in any part of the lesson. See who is able to decode the message the quickest! Can groups work together to decode it faster than others by working on different parts? You could even encode a riddle or anagram to add an extra layer of difficulty. This little app makes creating secret messages easy by using picture based fonts. Quickly type a message in a readable font and change it to a picture type font such as Wingdings. Give children the chance to enjoy playing detective!

Label Countries of the World

This worksheet includes a world map (with country borders), a key for ten places and a compass. Students can use it to help improve their locational geographic knowledge of ten different countries around the world. Using an atlas (online or traditional) they can find a particular country and then colour it in on the map using the key to identify it. Once completed they can easily cover up the key and use it to self-assess or assess their friends. They can also add the compass directions on at the bottom as a further additional activity.

Also has a final section where they can jot down ideas about what and where they would like to be when they are 25 years old.
