A set of 13 worksheets providing a variety of questions about finding and using prime factors. The questions try to encourage students to understand how prime factors can be used to explore the properties of numbers. Venn diagrams are used to calculate the lowest common multiple and highest common factor and the sheets help students see why the Venn diagram works. They are suitable for revision, reinforcement and extension work on prime factorisation.
There is a lot of emphasis on being able to explain what key maths vocabulary means e.g. words like factor, multiple, prime.
Most of the sheets have spaces for the answers to be written on. There is one sheet which contains similar questions with no working out space. Answers are provided.

This resource can be printed on A4 pages to create an A5 size booklet. The idea is to practise a particular times table e.g. the SIX times table by filling in the number 6 in the box on the first page. This will automatically update all the questions to require multiples of six in the answers. By changing the 6 to a different number you can practise a different times table.
Vocabulary used includes ‘divisible’, ‘multiple’, ‘product’ and ‘remainder’. Exercises include commutativity, multiplying by decimals, calculating remainders and finding unit fractions of amounts.
Useful for older students who need to refresh their times tables.

This powerpoint and worksheet can be used to show how to round off decimal numbers to a given number of decimal places or to the nearest whole number.
Use also as an opportunity to revise place value for decimals.
The later sections revise other types of calculations where the answers need to be rounded off including money calculations where the answer in pounds has to be rounded to the nearest penny.

This powerpoint and worksheet show students how to create equivalent fractions by scaling up a simple fraction.
Uses simple practical applications.
Using real life data to see how 9 out of 10 scales up to 18 out of 20 and eventually 90 out of 100 thus also making a connection with percentages as special ‘out of 100’ fractions.
Also the splitting of a whole into two fractions e.g. 9 out of 10 people being right-handed means 1 out of 10 people are left-handed. Percentages total 100%.
