A 31-slide PowerPoint looking at the HOW questions on the paper 1 reading exam. The resource uses an extract from the Alan Partridge book, ‘Nomad.’ It is a very funny extract which my students have loved. Exemplar answers, extract, examiner tips, interactive images, model answers all included.

A revision paper on Q5 (the evaluation question) on the paper 1 reading exam. It is for the EDUQAS exam board but could be used for any. It is based on an extract from the Sally Rooney novel, Normal People. My students enjoyed it. Aimed at grade 4-6 students. The following are included:

Fun starter to show the importance of proofreading. The students need to read a review of Derren Brown's stage show and find 20 Errors. I have put it on a PowerPoint and on Microsoft Word with the answers included on a separate sheet.

The lesson theme is Louis Theroux's documentary, 'Drinking to Oblivion' and creates a great discussion. The students find it really interesting and more interactive than a 'typical' film/book review!
