This big bundle contains all of the special words and stories lessons, plus the knowledge organiser! The engaging and informative lessons develop children’s understanding of the Bible, the Megillat Esther, and the Guru Granth Sahib, as special books of the Christian, Jewish and Sikh faiths respectively. Children learn key facts about the books, important information about stories that these books contain, and how the books are treated by worshippers. Furthermore, they consider their own personal spirituality, considering the stories and books that are special to them. The are six lessons included, which should be taught in the following order: 1.The Bible 2.Personal Beliefs 3.The Lord’s Prayer 4.The Megillat Esther 5.The Guru Granth Sahib 6.Comparing Special Books In each lesson, the learning is guided by a clear and colourful PowerPoint presentation, which guides students through a step-by-step learning journey. There are also all of the reading and worksheets included - everything that you need to teach the lessons. In the past, I have used these lessons with children from across Key Stage 1 - the key learning is aligned with curriculum expectations for RE, and also the content prescribed by most diocese regions. All images are licensed for commercial use.

These resources are designed to help students gain understanding, assessment skills, and key interpretations of Beatrice Garland’s’ conflict poem: ‘Kamikaze.’ Students will complete this learning having gathered vital skills in: interpreting the significant meanings of the poem, understanding the poet’s ideas within the poem, analysing the features of form and structure, considering settings and themes, and understanding Garland’s language devices. These whole class reading sessions aim to develop children’s readng fluency and comprehension skills, whilst simultaneously building their understanding of castles. The three sessions include the extracts/ texts and presentations for the whole class reading sessions on: -Alfred the Great Non-Fiction Reading; -Deadly Dangerous Kings and Queens - Karl Shaw; -Queen Elizabeth II Factfile Reading. Each whole class reading session contains a series of activities aiming to develop children’s retrieval, explanation, inference, prediction and summarising skills. There is also a vocabulary check immediately after each text is read to clarify any unfamiliar/ difficult language. The tasks are comprised of quick-check questions, solo thinking, pair/ group discussions and deeper thinking activities. The sessions are best suited for children across lower KS2, although with minor adaptations they could feasibly be used with slightly younger and older year groups. The resources are also suitable for home/ remote learning.

These whole class reading session aims to develop children’s fluency and comprehension skills whilst reading engaging and informative texts related to ‘The Renaissance.’ Included in the bundle are three complete whole class reading resource packs, with everything that you need to teach the whole class reading lessons on: -The Renaissance Period (non-fiction text); -The Mona Lisa (original information text); -Romeo and Juliet (Andrew Matthews/ Tony Ross adaptation).
