It is sometimes hard to assess the success of the hedonic calculus. For years my colleagues and I found it hard to get pupils to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of the hedonic calculus. This resource aims to change this. Pupils are given the worksheet in order to see how simple, yet how time consuming and contradictory this theory is. It works a treat - especially for homework. This lesson focuses on the different beliefs and examples of pacifism. It follows my other lesson on Violence and Peace and comes with a worksheet and task which should bring excellent learning. It also has a meditation exercise that can be used to the last task of the PPT. This is a really good task which the pupils engage with and always walk out with a smile!
