I have taught Maths and ICT for over 25 years in 6 different schools in both England and Wales. I have been a Cross Curricular ICT coordinator (5 years) in one school and a Head of Maths in two other schools (4 and 10 years). During that time I have developed numerous resources to teach Maths and ICT particularly using EXCEL and VBA. The resources in the shop are all written using EXCEL. I would welcome any feedback / suggestions that would make the resources better.

This is the free version of the game that has the 'add' sheet working but the others do not. To get the full working version please go here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/tetris-style-four-rules-of-number-maths-game-11244244 This is a game that can be used to practice basic four rules number skills ( + - x ÷). The numbers can be changed to vary the difficulty and the time taken before each tile ‘falls’ can be varied. After each set of 10 correct answers the game gets a little quicker. The high score is kept and that can be very motivating with a group of students…who comes top! Simple choose your parameters using the spinner button, press the start button and input the answers to each sum at the bottom of the column to ‘zap’ the column. If the sums reach the bottom of the column before you answer them…then it’s game over!

This is free sample of a series of 16 interactive whiteboard starter resources to deliver: • Plotting y=+ax2 • Plotting y=-ax2 • Plotting y=+ax2 ±bx ±c • Plotting y=-ax2 ±bx ±c There are four versions of each different quadratic graph plotter. Each version comes as horizontal or vertical table formats depending on the way you teach it. All versions randomly generate curves to plot, select a random x-axis range and calculate and set the minimum and maximum value of the y-axis so the graph can be plotted. The autoplot version randomly generates a question then calculates the coordinates to plot, showing full workings and plots the curve one point at a time. There is a variable delay timer so you can ask students the correct value using for instance mini-whiteboards. The ‘BLANK’ version randomly generates a question to plot and allows you to fill in the table by typing in correct answers or you can use ‘Answers’ button and the sheet will fill in the correct solution showing full workings

Plotting Coordinates, Horizontal and Vertical Lines Starters and Worksheets

(0)
A set of maths starter and worksheet resources linked to straight line graphs that will ask students to: * State the coordinates of a point, * Plot a point given a coordinate pair, * Plot a given vertical or horizontal line, * State the equation of a given horizontal or vertical line The coordinates and lines are randomised between -5 and +5 for the starters and -10 and +10 for the worksheets. There is a timer countdown that can be changed depending on how much time you think the students need. This is best used with a set of mini-whiteboards (ones with axes or a lined grid on are best). The resources use VBA code behind the scenes to make it work so you will have to 'enable macros' when prompted by Excel. It has been written using Excel 2013.

Algebra Sequences 1 Starters and Worksheets

(0)
This is a series of interactive whiteboard starter resources to deliver: • Continuing a number sequence + and - • Generating values given the nth term The resources are written using EXCEL 2013 and include VBA code to randomise questions and include countdown timers. Worksheets are formatted for printing on a single sheet of A4. There are: • 5 ‘Bell work’ tasks. These are to be projected on the whiteboard as the class comes in or for the ‘card sort’ (Bellwork 4 and 5) printed out on put on the desks. The idea is pupils have something to get on with related to the learning objectives while everyone gets in and is settled. (It also gives the member of staff time to take the register. • 7 Starter activities on basic addition and subtraction. If these are completed on a PC / Laptop / Tablet then the sheets self mark…always a good idea I find! • 3 ‘Find the next terms in the number pattern’ examples that can be used as a whiteboard projector resource or a help-station activity for pupils who struggle with the concept. They get progressively more difficult from Ex 1 to Ex 3 (Generator an+b Ex 1 positive a & b, Ex2 positive a and ±b, Ex 3 ±a and ±b) • 6 ‘Find the next terms in the number pattern’ exercises that self mark. They get progressively more difficult from Ex 1a to Ex 3b the a exercises are find the next 2 terms and the b exercises are find the terms in the gaps (Generator an+b Ex 1 positive a & b, Ex2 positive a and ±b, Ex 3 ±a and ±b) • There is a mini-plenary that is a number square that gives you a starting term and second term and challenges you to find the next 10 in the number sequence. As yet it’s not self marking…I’m working on that! • 3 ‘Generate the first 5 terms in the number pattern given the nth term’ examples that can be used as a whiteboard projector resource or a help-station activity for pupils who struggle with the concept. They get progressively more difficult from Ex 1 to Ex 3 (Generator an+b Ex 1 positive a & b, Ex2 positive a and ±b, Ex 3 ±a and ±b) • 3 ‘Generate the first 5 terms in the number pattern given the nth term’ exercises that self mark. They get progressively more difficult from Ex 1 to Ex 3 (Generator an+b Ex 1 positive a & b, Ex2 positive a and ±b, Ex 3 ±a and ±b) • 4 help sheets that can be used for printing tables squares, number lines or demonstrating doubling and halving a number.
