Bringing your detective to life

To read through the extract and answer the questions

I have made these based on the dingbats game and I have to say, my groups love playing it. I have had the pictures laminated so that it can be fun activity for when student have completed tasks. It really does get the students thinking.

The mat includes the key details of the play that the students need to know. I have laminated mine so that students can always access it. it is a good way to encourage students to work independently. It covers themes, structure, symbols and context.

This resource helps students to understand the key characters and themes on one side and challenges them on the other side. I have laminated mine and placed this on each students table so that they could keep using the mat to refer back to.

The Detective Writing lessons helps students to understand what inference is and how this will help them to give a clearer explanation. The students become detectives to help solve crimes.

This lesson is based around Roald Dahl’s Lamb to the Slaughter - it allows students to study a crime scene, put a report together, study the coroners report. Role play activity included.

I have designed this booklet for my KS3 LA groups. the booklet is complete with a vast amount of tasks, challenges, scenes from the play, progress checks and an assessment.
