Good to use as a starter Instructions: Students complete as many connections as they can (in rows/columns/diagonal) between the images finding an ‘odd one out’. This is the first lesson on the scheme and addresses expectations of war and conflict. The lesson explores the media's representations of war. This interactive lesson was used for an observation and is a challenging lesson for students in KS3 or can be used to recap essay skills for KS4 students. The lesson introduces the theme of the supernatural and asks students to identify words belonging to that semantic field (AO2). The extract has been taken from Stave 1 - the introduction of Marley's ghost and students work in differentiated teams to piece together a response to the extract. The pupils then work independently to create a response that focuses on language (AO2) but there is an opportunity to link to context (AO3).
