This activity is designed to introduce your class to balancing equations in a simple and visual way. They will complete simple additions to balance the equation, with each addition having a visual representation. Students can also use physical aids, such as cubes, to further reinforce this concept while solving the worksheets.

Times Tables Number Word Search Practise - Multiplications 1 - 10
This activity is a great way for students to practise their 1 - 10 times tables. They will find the answers to a set of multiplications in the number grid, coloring in the correct answers with the colour to match the times table.
This pack contains one number word search for each times table (2-10).
They’re a great lesson, filler, or home learning activity. My class absolutely love them as I’m sure yours will too!

Humans and the Environment: Pollution - Cause and Effect
Differentiated worksheets where students look at the causes and effects of pollution as part of your Humans and the Environment topic. The first worksheet is a cut and stick activity where students must cut out the causes and effects, pair them up, and then stick them into the correct column. For the second worksheet students are given either the cause of effect, them must complete the other column in the table.
These sheets are a great way to get students to think carefully about what the causes of different types of pollutions and the negative effect it can have on both us, animals, and the world around us.

Types of Pollution Student Booklet
This forms of pollution student booklet for is a great project for students to carry out research on air, water, soil, light, noise, and plastic pollution, creating a page for each with space for a diagram or picture along with a front and back cover page. It’s perfect as a personal project or extension activity if you’re looking at types of pollution.
**This pack comes in both color and black and white as well as a blank template.

To create the booklet, cut each A4 page in half, hole punch the top corner, and use some string or treasury tags to hold them together.

More or Less Addition and Subtraction Board Game: Years 1 - 2
This board game is great fun and will give your class tons of practise looking at 1 more or less, 10 more or less, as well as some bigger numbers for an extra challenge.
It’s a no-prep game (all you need is dice and counters) which can be played with 2 or more players. I have used this resource very successfully as a lesson however I now keep a pile at the back of the classroom that children can use as an extension activity or treat (they love it that much!).

Elapsed Time Problems Board Game
This board game is a great way for students to practise elapsed time problems without them even realising they’re learning. The game is ideal for 2 – 4 players and only needs the board, some counters, and some dice to play. They’ll roll the dice to progress along the board, landing on squares with elapsed time problems that they must work out and move their counter accordingly. This pack contains 4 levels of differentiation. We love using this game for extension and filler work as well as a whole lesson activity and fun way to teach time.

Diff. 2: The board progresses in half hour intervals
Diff. 3: The board progresses in half hour intervals using the 24-hour clock.

Outdoor Subtraction Task Cards: Reception - Year 1
Using physical materials outdoors is a great way to introduce your students to subtraction. For this activity they take a task card and use leaves, stones, and sticks to help them work out the simple subtraction on the card.
This resource contains two levels of differentiation:
Diff 1 (green) – Numbers 1 to 10
Diff 2 (blue) – Numbers 10 – 15
To help the task cards last, we laminate the them and get our student to write the answers on in removable pen.

Inverse Operations Task Card Challenges
These inverse operation challenge cards will give your students loads of practice using the inverse operation to figure out a variety of word problems (using multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division). You can use these task cards in a variety of ways from placing them randomly around your outdoor space and letting students find them to using them as extension or exit cards.

Verbs In Action: Parts of Speech Outdoor Activity
These outdoor parts of speech verb task cards are a great way to get students recognizing and using action verbs. The activity works nicely as a starter or plenary to your verbs lesson and is designed to get students taking part in physical activity while learning about verbs.
Put the class into pairs and give each a sentence card. One of the pair must read the sentence and point to / circle the verb, if their partner agrees they are correct, they must do the instruction given on the card.
Once they’ve done it, they can swap their card with somebody else and let their partner have a turn. It’s good to let each pair go through a handful of cards before stopping the activity. If they are unsure of the correct answer, make sure they ask an adult for help before completing the instruction.
This pack contains differentiated card levels.
Green cards = Diff. 1 (1 verb per card).
Blue cards = Diff. 2 (2 or more verbs per card).

Internet Safety Discussion Cards
Internet safety is an important topic to discuss with your class. These discussion cards are a perfect way for students to discuss key issues such as sharing information and personal privacy while online.
This pack contains 10 discussion cards. Simply place them in different locations around the space, put students into groups of 3 or 4 and give them 2 - 3 minutes to discuss each card. At the end you can come back together and talk about their discussions and thoughts.

Listening Walk: Outdoor Sound Activity
This is a fun and simple activity to introduce students to the world of sound, getting them to observe the world around them, thinking about the different sounds they can hear and where they’re coming from.
Tell the students that they are going to go outside and see how many different things they can hear. Walk around your outdoor space, getting them to draw / write what they can hear on the sheet. Once they have finished, the older ones can complete the question sheet.
For younger students you can simply ask these questions throughout the activity to stimulate thought.

The Rockpool Hunt
Rock pool hunts are great fun and easy to do. Print out the sheet for your students to take down to the beach and mark off the creatures and seaweeds as they find them.
