Everything you need to teach Act 5 Scenes 2 and 3 of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. This is also available as part of a complete scheme of work whereby a considerable saving can be made; further details can be found here.
The lessons have been created specifically for teaching at GCSE level, and cover the key assessment objectives for 9-1 New-Specification AQA: understanding of the text, language and structure, context/themes/author intent (although equally applicable to other exam boards).
Differentiated outcomes and tasks allow you to reach all learners, although I would recommend the lessons specifically for middle to higher ability students. Throughout the scheme, students are encouraged to make notes and annotate the text, as this will be a valuable revision tool when preparing for exams.
Teacher notes are provided on the PowerPoint to help explain and guide you through all phases of the lesson, with a range of interesting and engaging tasks for you to choose from. Importantly, full analysis is provided for all the tasks set, to enable you to lead interesting and engaging discussions which will deepen the students’ appreciation of the text. Strictly speaking, there is a lot more here than you would fit into a 1 hour lesson, so you may wish to spread this over a couple of lessons, or perhaps be a little selective with the tasks you wish to do. PDF version is for preview purposes.

A huge collection of worksheets for English language paper 1 and 2 writing sections (new specification 9-1 GCSE). Written specifically to AQA but the difference between the exam boards on the writing sections is negligible.
Start the year right by regularly setting these sheets as homework. Easily enough for a whole year! Dead easy to mark just highlight and circle the statements that fit!

This booklet contains over 16 exam style questions based on all the key extracts from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Exam questions are worded in accordance with the latest GCSE 9-1 specification.
Whilst I created this resource with AQA in mind, I’m sure this would prove useful for other exam boards too. Extracts are in chronological order, so students also revise plot and the development of themes/ideas as they tackle the questions. Each question is unique, meaning that the study guide covers all the major themes, events and characters in the novel.
Ideal for all teachers as there are (obviously) very few past papers for the new specification. I reckon I’ve predicted a few future exam questions here!
Visual aids for each stave, and for certain extracts, are provided to help remind students of key events. There’s also lots of exam tips to help students produce more effective exam responses, containing content and analysis that examiners are specifically looking for. My students have found the booklets very useful as it has allowed them to tackle a range of exam questions at home, meaning they feel prepared for the real thing.
Ready to roll, everything a student needs to revise for the exam and boost their confidence in the run up to the exam. Little/no adaptation required. Enjoy!

This is a 38 page, fully loaded revision, study and comprehension resource for Dennis Kelly’s ‘DNA’.
This has been written with the latest AQA (9-1) English Literature specification in mind, but I’m sure this would work equally well with other exam boards. This would also be ideal for drama specifications too. I’ve tried to make this revision guide as active as possible, so there are lots of activities and tasks for students to do as they work through the booklet. There’s a good balance of information and engaging tasks for students to work through.
Contents of this guide run as follows:
* Visual summary of plot
* Storyboard resource for students to then recall the plot and key events from memory
*Form and structure comprehension questions
*Settings questions
* Context (students explore key issues raised in the play such as youth stereotypes, gang culture, growing violence in the age of the internet etc)
* Symbols and Motifs - lots of information about symbols and motifs in the play, followed by a revision activity
* Key Quotes - Students explore key quotes through analysis of their meaning and significance, quotes are broken down chapter by chapter and provide thematic links etc.
* Themes - Students make connections between themes, characters and events in the novel
* Characterisation - Students have to complete a character profile for all the main characters using the study tasks provided
* Key Terminology - Exploring some key terminology and vocabulary that will deepen their understanding of the play as well as impress examiners.
* Exam question - a series of exam questions worded and structured in the same way you will expect to find them on the new 9-1 literature paper
*Exam Techniques - Hints and tips on how to maximise performance in the exam.
Ideal for all teachers as this is a new set text to be added to the specification. Definitely a grade saving resource that enables students to fully prepare for the exam and to explore the text from lots of different angles.
Ready to roll, everything a student needs to revise for the exam and boost their confidence in the run up to the exam. Little/no adaptation required. Suitable for a range of abilities. Enjoy!

Are you dreading marking those assessments or mock exams? Do you wish your students took more ownership of their work and the improvements they make? This marking system has been designed specifically to solve these very problems!
This system takes the very time consuming and complex form of marking and simplifies it down not only saving you time, but giving your students detailed diagnostic feedback in the process. Designed specifically for AQA but would work equally well with other exam boards with some minor tweaks.
In a nutshell:
Using the marking grids, you award marks for each question, highlight strengths in green and targets in orange
The marking grids provide a detailed bank of comments for each question, allowing you to give diagnostic feedback for each and every question, tailored to that student’s performance
The accompanying powerpoint talks your students through the marking grid, explaining how it works
Your students then spend a couple of lessons going over their work and making the necessary improvements
Help sheets are provided for each and every question to help you avoid a million questions and to enable your students to improve their work independently.
This is guaranteed to save you hours of work and is fully editable/adaptable if you wish to change anything.
Everything you need to win the war against mock exams!

A fantastic collection of visually stunning display posters guaranteed to light up your classroom!
Using quotations from Macbeth, this collection of 20 display posters combines striking images with beautiful fonts to create memorable visual prompts for your students. Ideal in any GCSE English classroom.
In the age of closed book exams, these will not only look great, but help your students revise quotations during each and every lesson.
I have also included the PPT files, so that you can print using the ‘2 slides per page’ option and print them off for your students to use as revision cue cards!
Most of the key quotations are included here, covering all the acts and key characters from the play.
The PPT preview is problematic on TES, but they download absolutely fine when purchased. I’ve also included the PDF version for added peace of mind. Why not check out the free trial before you buy?

Huge range of revision activities based around J.B. Priestley’s An Inspector Calls. Fully prepare students for the AQA paper 2 English Literature 9-1 GCSE exam with this exciting and varied range of activities.
Each slide is a stand-alone activity designed to improve students’ awareness of character, plot, themes, key subject terminology, context, writer’s intentions and those all important quotes! The PowerPoint covers all the assessment objectives for all the major exam boards, but was created specifically with AQA in mind.
Many of the activities make ideal starters, and plenaries, whilst some of the more extensive tasks can take a whole lesson. Ideal in the run up to the exam!
I’ve tried to approach the text from lots of different angles to keep it feeling ‘fresh’ for you and your students. Many of the acitivites aim to stretch and challenge students, introducing them to new concepts and ideas I created this with the AQA spec in mind but am sure it’s equally applicable to other exam boards.

Ideal for AQA English Language Papers 1 and 2 but equally useful for those wishing to embed these skills from Key Stage 3.

Complete Punctuation and SPaG scheme of work for Key Stage 3 and GCSE. It’s time to win the battle against poor grammar and punctuation once and for all!
Complete unit of work which will allow your students to master advanced punctuation as well as engage with a range of exciting creative writing tasks. If you are anything like me, explicit teaching/reminding of how to properly apply punctuation is ESSENTIAL for all ability ranges, especially with the new specification GCSE placing so much emphasis on AO6.
These lessons are certainly geared more towards KS3 and KS4 students. Powerpoints are light hearted and fun, with plenty of images/colour and silly jokes to keep your students engaged and entertained. I’ve found these lessons serve as an excellent ‘crash course’ in punctuation either at the beginning of the academic year or in the run up to the GCSE exams. Below is a list of contents:
Commas (£2 if purchased on its own) -
Commas powerpoint lessons
Commas in a list worksheet
Commas in a complex sentences worksheet
Colons (£2 if purchased on its own) -
Colon powerpoint lessons
Mastering colons worksheet
Semi-Colons (£2 if purchased on its own)-
Semi-colon lesson powerpoints

Speech powerpoint lessons
Speech worksheet
Speech mixed practice worksheet
Writing success criteria worksheet
Editing and proof reading - (£3 if purchased on its own)
Editing and proof reading mini scheme powerpoint (nearly 50 slides)
Editing and proof reading worksheets (£2 if purchased separately)
A wide range of proof reading worksheets that you can use to consolidate and improve your student’s SPaG and proof reading abilities after you have finished the unit of work.
This unit would suit a range of abilities as there is lots of scope for stretch and challenge, with ambitious success criteria and extension tasks built in throughout. Scaffolding and differentiation options are built in where appropriate.
Fully resourced and ready to roll, minimal adaptation or tweaking required.
This is obviously a SPaG/Punctuation scheme of work, but it is equally focused on creative/descriptive writing too. Much of the content is therefore ideal for teaching general creative writing skills or preparing for the fiction writing task on the new specification (9-1) GCSE English Language exam.
