Developed specifically for the new AQA GCSE English Literature specification (yet equally suitable for other examination boards), here is a detailed comprehension work book. revision guide for Stave 5 of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’.
This is basically a mini scheme/unit of work in a booklet and would work brilliantly as either revision for your students, independent study work for cover, tutoring and home schooling, or for students to actively read the text and consolidate their understanding as they read.
Huge range of comprehension questions exploring plot, character, themes, context and writer’s messages and intentions. Ideal preparation for the AQA English Literature qualification as all the Assessment Objectives are covered. 13 pages packed full of content; a wide range of engaging activities are included.
A PDF copy of the source text has been included to support the page references in the workbook only. Due to the age of the source text, it is out of copyright and is available to share.
Resource is absolutely ready to go, you won’t need to edit or tweak the resource for it to work with your groups. Ideal for low maintenance teaching or revision.

Everything you need to teach Act 5 Scenes 4 and 5 of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. This is also available as part of a complete scheme of work whereby a considerable saving can be made; further details can be found here.
The lessons have been created specifically for teaching at GCSE level, and cover the key assessment objectives for 9-1 New-Specification AQA: understanding of the text, language and structure, context/themes/author intent (although equally applicable to other exam boards).
Differentiated outcomes and tasks allow you to reach all learners, although I would recommend the lessons specifically for middle to higher ability students. Throughout the scheme, students are encouraged to make notes and annotate the text, as this will be a valuable revision tool when preparing for exams.
Teacher notes are provided on the PowerPoint to help explain and guide you through all phases of the lesson, with a range of interesting and engaging tasks for you to choose from. Importantly, full analysis is provided for all the tasks set, to enable you to lead interesting and engaging discussions which will deepen the students’ appreciation of the text. Strictly speaking, there is a lot more here than you would fit into a 1 hour lesson, so you may wish to spread this over a couple of lessons, or perhaps be a little selective with the tasks you wish to do. PDF version is for preview purposes.

Lesson 2 in this revision/skills building scheme of work around the writing section of the paper 2 examination.
This is a full lesson with a wide range of activities in order to develop and master this important aspect of argumentative and persuasive writing in preparation for the examination.
The lessons have been designed around (and make reference to) the AQA specification. However, I'm sure they are equally applicable to other specifications and exam boards.
Ready to roll, very little adaptation required. Ideal as a skills boost or revision session in the run up to the exams, or can be used as part of the wider scheme (available as a bundle).

Here I have a lesson/mini scheme on monologues. Though considered a necessary evil by many, I think they are a great way for students to break through the 'wall' in terms of lacking confidence and conviction. Once they have successfully completed a monologue, they should find that any issues around nerves and confidence are much improved.
There are six monologues for students to perform (so each can be done over six lesson or you can give different groups different monologues, it's up to you). There is also a lesson powerpoint to coach students through preparing for, performing and evaluating their monologues.
The monologues are my own creation and cover a variety of different themes and ideas. They have been deliberately crafted in order to present complex characters which challenge the performer to demonstrate a wide range of emotions. They are also relatively short, meaning your students shouldn't have too much bother learning lines. Most can be performed by either gender.
They have worked incredibly well with my groups and I'm glad I introduced these lessons early in year 10. Little/no adaptation is required.

20 worksheets each with a unique AQA GCSE English Language Paper 2 style writing task. Ideal to set as HW and designed to be really quick and easy to mark.
The worksheets are worded/presented in the way you would expect to find an AQA English Language writing question (equally suitable for other exam boards).
They also contain lots of prompts and interactive questions to encourage students to use a wide range of skills as they are writing. That way, as you continue to set different questions, good writing skills will become habitual.
Most importantly, marking the work is really easy. Simply circle the effort level and highlight a target from the target bank. Diagnostic marking without even having to write a single word!
Ideal to set as homework, as part of a scheme of work, or simply some inspiration for some AQA style worded writing tasks.

I was finding that in many of my drama groups, certain students would inevitably end up fulfilling the same roles within their groups. For example, there would always be a natural leader emerge who would boss everyone around, and others who were happy to be passengers.
This handy little resource shakes things up a bit and makes sure that all members of the group are fully involved and invested in the devising process. It's also a great differentiation strategy in mixed ability groups as you can group students and define roles based on your preferences/rationale. When I was observed for my appraisal, the cards allowed me to show that I had challenged students to step outside of their comfort zone and explore a role they had not previously fulfilled within a group. It's amazing what the students can do when you set them a challenge!
These are great to get laminated and you can fill the names in with a whiteboard marker. They can equally just be printed out and written on normally.

This is a fully resourced lesson about using semicolons/semi colons. This is also available as part of a Punctuation and SPaG scheme of work here. Ideal for KS3 and KS4 students with a fun and light-hearted feel. Could also be taught to higher ability KS2 students.
Would suit a range of abilities as there is lots of scope for stretch and challenge, with ambitious success criteria and extension tasks built in throughout. Scaffolding and differentiation options are built in where appropriate.
Fully resourced and ready to roll, minimal adaptation or tweaking required.
This is obviously a SPaG/Punctuation lesson, but it is equally focused on creative/descriptive writing too. Much of the content is therefore ideal for teaching general creative writing skills or preparing for the fiction writing task on the new specification GCSE English exam. I have used the Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus as stimulus material for the tasks (which has proved popular with those I’ve taught).
There’s at least a lesson’s work here; it usuallytakes a couple of lessons to get through all the content due to the detailed and structured nature of the writing task.

Here I have a short exam unit which is basically a mock exam for the Drama: Performance and response exam unit for the new OCR Drama GCSE, alongside a revision mat/knowledge organiser.
I have used the specimen paper that is on the OCR website to ensure that the structure and outline of this paper is correct (although the questions on this one are obviously different, so you can use both as mocks).
For each question, there are tips and guidance about how best to tackle the question to gain maximum marks, using language from the mark scheme to help students understand what is required of them for each question.
For revision, I've also included a GCSE revision mat, explaining each of the study areas along with suggested tasks to support further study and revision at home.
Hopefully this will be useful as we all embark on the uncharted territory that is the new Drama exam! I've found that my students have really appreciated the opportunity to have the questions, and the style of response required, explained to them in this manner.
