Challenges that famous entrepreneurs have had to overcome on their way to success - 3 short case studies include Steve Jobs, J.K. Rowling and Simon Cowell. There are also discussion questions for students - a great starter activity if teaching enterprise and entrepreneurs for the first time.
I have used this lesson successfully with my Year 10 and Year 11 classes when teaching employee rights in the workplace as part of the legislation (external influences) topic for GCSE Business.
The content of this lesson resource is designed to cover the following learning aims
Recap the key aspects of employment laws that protect employees at work
Explain what a contract of employment is
Produce a poster advising employees about their rights in the workplace
Assess the importance of particular employee rights
A starter activity is attached, with a PowerPoint presentation which includes definitions, examples and group/pair work activities for students.
This lesson will also help to develop students’ analysis and evaluation skills through the use of a judgement style question about the importance of particular employee rights in the workplace.
This bundle covers all the major topics associated with HR/People in Business for GCSE Business specifications (e.g. AQA).
Practical activities, worksheets and PowerPoint presentations are included - please see description of individual lessons for more details.
Highly recommended.
