An activity for young learners to practice animals, basic adjectives and verbs. Originally a practice activity based on the YLE Movers ESL curriculum. Best suited for older children (6-11) studying ESL/EAL. Learners have to think of an animal that fits the description, for example an animal that can fly or that lives on a farm. The teacher elicits responses and shows examples in the form of images that appear on the slides. The examples chosen reflect the vocabulary in Cambridge YLE Movers. The descriptions used are designed to recycle basic adjectives and verbs.

A quick ‘what am I?’ game for young learners to practice animals. Originally used alongside the Cambridge YLE Movers curriculum. Learners name the animal based on the description. Teachers can choose to award points based on the number of clues needed to guess correctly, for example 3 points for 1 clue, 2 points for 2 clues, 1 point for 3 clues etc. Most suited to ESL/EAL students aged 6-11.

A quick warmer/practice activity for young ESL students to practice body parts. Learners see a zoomed-in picture of a body part (hair, leg, foot, arm, eye, nose) and guess which body part it is. All pictures are royalty-free so can be used anywhere.
