This is a set of resources to introduce and practice 30 different sports/ leisure activities. The PowerPoint initially introduces the sports/ leisure activities with practice exercises. It includes grammar notes about the verbs jouer and faire, the use of au, du, de la, de l’ etc. There are also grammar notes about the negative form of the verb. There is a wide range of activities including match-ups, gap-fills, reading comprehensions, translations into English and French, a listening exercise, choosing the grammatically correct sentence, writing activities including one describing photos. The resource is easily adaptable. To accompany the PowerPoint there is a worksheet for all the activities, which are easily editable. Pupils will gain a good knowledge of a wide range of sports and leisure activities, and will be able to recognise and use them in a range of situations. The work in this pack of resources will certainly cover several lessons.

This resource is for KS3 students, based on the GCSE Theme 1 Topic ‘Self, family and friends’ (or for foundation level KS4 students). The booklet contains a whole range of reading, writing and speaking exercises, similar to those that students could face at GCSE. The student booklet is a 29-page document, broken down into six sub-topics and each sub-topic has 10 exercises to complete. The sub-topics are: all about me; my family; physical descriptions; characteristics; pets and a revision of all topics. The activities include true/false, comprehension questions, translation exercises into English and French, match-ups, writing activities based on given photos, individual writing tasks, gap-fills, multiple choice and speaking activities. There is a second copy of the booklet included with answers. The booklet can be used in stages to supplement class work; it is also ideal for revision purposes, for assessment or to set as cover work too.

French Years 8 or 9/ KS3 Magazine Project .

This is a fun, creative project for students of all ability ranges. It is a great project for pupils in years 8 or 9 and takes 2 – 3 weeks to complete. Pupils work in pairs or small groups to make their own French magazine. The PowerPoint goes through the different types of magazines pupils could create (fashion, sport, tech, healthy lifestyle, music, travel) and explains in a step-by-step format the different features each magazine should include. Example and ideas of features/ articles to include are also given. The PowerPoint is a complete introduction to pupils for the creative work they will be doing, in the form of a magazine, and there is also a worksheet to print for each group to keep to guide them through everything they should include. It is ideal to do at the end of term as it allows pupils to work independently from the teacher; practise the French they have learnt; and they really enjoy this creative task.

This is a set of resources to introduce describing others and oneself. There is a lengthy PowerPoint (76 slides) that goes through describing height, build, hair and eyes with reinforcement activities, match up activities, gap fills, translations and reading comprehension. It then goes on to introduce 16 characteristics with match ups, snake sentences and reading comprehensions. The final activity is the creation of a wanted poster for students to complete. There is an 8-page worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint.
