Development Dynamics Exam
Exam and mark scheme for the development dynamics (Edexcel B 9-1) topic. This could also be used to AQA. Full hour paper with easy to read mark scheme.
Hoyt and Burgess Models
Looks at burgess and hoyt models. Allows them to work in groups and place information on large copies of these before understanding and completing the worksheet. Further tasks and differentiated tasks provided. Worksheets and information for the group work provided also.
River erosion and long profile
Different activities looking at the rivers long profile and erosion. Differentiated and with further tasks.
River flooding Management
Looking at hard and soft management strategies. The full lesson. The extra resource is for students to add any information to the images that they can think of as a starter, in groups, then go back to it at the end of the lesson to add anything they have learnt. Can be laminated for whiteboards as well. Main task also included.
Water Cycle
Introduction to the water cycle, looks at what it is, using information from the board, a worksheet (the sheet is on the powerpoint as a gap fill) and a song. They can also create their own song or poem. There is a stretch and challenge slide included for high ability groups/students.
Settlements Patterns and Sphere of Influence
A way to introduce settlement patterns and sphere of influence to KS3. A number of different activities and all resources are on the powerpoint. Very easy to follow. Gets them to design their own questionnaires and work to establish a sphere of influence for their school.
Urban regeneration
Good introduction to looking at what urban regeneration is. Looks at the problems that urban areas that have faced and the solutions to this. Brings in regeneration as this. Doesn't look specifically at a case study but there is one I have created available.
Sustainable Cities
What sustainable cities are and the students design their own sustainable cities taking examples from the resources. Good for use over two lessons if you want to add more detail.
What are superpowers?
Looking at an overview of superpowers and how they demonstrate hard and soft power. Aimed at KS3/KS4 but could be used as a basic introduction for KS5 as includes some of the key information.
A variety of tasks including finding resources around the room, with worksheets and resources provided, does not require any textbooks. Differentiated tasks and worksheets and challenge tasks provided.
London regeneration
Looks at both stratford regeneration for the Olympic games and the London Docklands regeneration and then using them as comparisons.

Global Warming
An introduction to global warming. Brief introduction and then students circulate doing different activities. There are 7 activities to complete and all resources are attached. Takes 1-2 lessons.
Coasts and rivers revision
Looks at both coasts and rivers. Work as a 6 tasks all with differentiated tasks (bronze, silver, gold) on them and a further task. Print of the slides as the resources and they can use these with any information they have in their own books but most tasks also work independently of other work completed.

This is a lesson at the beginning of a development topic looking at some of the key terms within development as well as mapping inequality and measuring development. T
asks are all differentiated with bronze, silver and gold and have challenge tasks as well. All resources in the powerpoint.
