Types of Aid DME
A decision making exercise where the students are deciding where to spend money and what sort of aid to give to their country. This can be in any format such as groups but is set up as a conference. Also includes other tasks that can be done before or after that look at the specific types of aid available and given. It mentions a specific textbook to use but this information is in any GCSE spec textbook.

Multiculturalism Urban Issues
Looking at multiculturalism as an urban issue. Card sort and a number of activities to realise the issues that it can create. AQA and Edexcel specs. Could be used for younger years.
Urban Issues Traffic
Looking at the urban issue of traffic, both in AQA and Edexcel specifications and KS3. Looks at the different problems and solutions as well as causes. Homework also available that covers traffic and a couple of different urban problems.
Birmingham Regeneration
Regeneration of Birmingham, creating posters using the information provided. Last task is an exam question where they can work in groups and then switch around the get best possible answer.
Geography of disease
Looks at an introduction of the geography of disease. Worksheets are included in the powerpoint and so can be printed from this. Several different activities including mapping disease and looking at key terms. A good introduction. Have also included a glossary, not part of the lesson but can be used to put in their books for the topic.
Tourist Honeypot Sites
Looks at an introduction to tourist honeypot sites and issues with them and solutions with a worksheet (on the powerpoint). They will then create a leaflet which has differentiated tasks and success criteria. It is based on Canterbury but would just need to change the name to make it your local area, or they could make up an area. Could be used for KS3 or KS4.
Sub aerial processes
Looks at type of weathering and mass movement and their effect on the coastline. All resources are part of the powerpoint and can be printed off.
Management of Earthquakes
Looking at earthquake management and mitigation. Looks at a couple of different ways including earthquake proof buildings. Students can then design their own. Once designed you can also use cocktail sticks and mini marshmallows (or paper straws etc) to make them and test them but this is optional.
Housing issue in LEDC and MEDC cities
Looks at brownfield and greenfield sites, describes the issues with housing in both LEDC's and MEDC's. Set out as a decision making exercise. Differentiated worksheets including gap fill for the starter and differentiated worksheets for the DME.
Hurricane Katrina
Brief introduction to what a hurricane is, then looks at Hurricane Katrina. Students map the progress of Katrina and track it and then look at the effects. Worksheets attached. The sheet referred to on the first slide is just the question on the first slide.

Mumbai and London megacities case studies. Introduction to both.
Eco Tourism
Looks at what ecotourism is as an introduction and then gives two examples of places in Kenya that they have to compare. Trip advisor sheets where they create their own reviews based on these ideas. Easily differentiated through what they put into it. All resources and information included.
Geography of Crime
Looks at a brief overview of different crimes and punishments. Use of example that they can map and decide their own crimes and punishments. Severity line.
