WARNING THIS USES TWINKL CURSIVE FONT. IT MAY MAY NEED ADJUSTING IF YOU DON’T HAVE THIS FONT INSTALLED I used this as an introductory 2 lessons. We worked together with a lot of discussion for the picture sheet. The next Guided reading lesson we did the comprehension task with the short text and then finished off any missing questions. After this the children were independent with their Picture Guided Reading. Thanks to the amazing website onceuponapicture, my class have been enjoying practising their prediction, inference and story writing skills during guided reading. I decided to modify them a bit to be slightly differentiated. Hope you find them useful.

**WARNING THIS USES TWINKL CURSIVE FONT. IF YOU DON’T HAVE THE FONT DOWNLOADED IT MAY NEED ADJUSTING WHEN PURCHASED This resource links directly to Big Maths CLIC on your planning. Each slide goes in order of CLIC: Counting Learn its It’s nothing new Calculation The way I use it is at the start of each Maths lesson this CLIC sessions lasts 10-15 minutes, using pace to go over the basics in maths (Making sure to change the calculations necessary so they are not doing the same ones again). At the end of the week I use the CLIC challenges so they can use what they have learned. I hope you like the resource I have developed, it was catered for a class in my school so feel free to adapt it for yours

Using the 'Green for Growth' marking system, the children in my year 3 class chose their own level of challenge to edit and improve these pieces of writing. The 'C' (hardest one) included no Green for Growth marking, and the children had to decide where to edit and improve approrpaite. *PLEASE NOTE I ORIGINALLY USED THE TWINKL CURSIVE FONT. I developed these planning ideas and project sheets for use in my Lego club. They work well, as long as freedom of expression is allowed alongside it as well! Use them how you see fit.

Different mario ‘levels’ of editing. Although the black outline isn’t pretty, it helps you cut out the cards nicely.

Place Value consolidation activity (year 2 or early year 3)

With my year 3s this was a great consolidation task for them to show what they know about 2digit number place value they learnt in year 2 at the beginning of the year. They first rolled a dice and then concretely showed the number in dienes, pictorially represented on this sheet using the dienes symbols and then did it abstractly. It's a sheet easily adapted for 3 digit numbers for year three and was very successful with my class. *PLEASE NOTE THIS ORIGINAL DOCUMENT USES THE TWINKL CURSIVE FONT. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THAT FONT INSTALLED IT MAY NOT APPEAR LIKE THE PICTURE.*
