An escape room activity which gets student to identify the 6 specific group of customers that a business will aim its product at from the GCSE AQA
specification. Students work individually or in pairs to identify the 6 factors and then when have identified the password come to the front of the room to unlock the PPT! A very interactive lesson with other activities included.
This resource was really effective for an intervention group I did with mainly boys who were not using the case study to help develop their answers.
The resource shows them the data from a football match between Barcelona and Chelsea. From the statistics shown it is fairly one sided but the match finishes as a draw and Chelsea progress.
The students are required to answer an exam style question on who they think deserved to win and WHY? This gets them to use the ‘case study’ to develop their points. PERFECT!
9 completed mind maps on the unit 6 of the AQA A-Level Business specification. They can be edited so that students can be given a template and to then fill in the gaps. I use as an in-class activity before an end of unit assessment.
An escape room activity which gets student to identify the 5 factors influencing the location decision of a business from the GCSE AQA specification. Students work individually or in pairs to identify the 5 factors and then when have identified the password come to the front of the room to unlock the PPT!
Following on from the escape room there is then 3 exam questions following the I do, we do, you do approach. One example of a perfect answer to a 3 mark question, working through one together as a class and then the class to do one themselves in timed conditions. A superb approach to exam questioning.

A truely great resource!
If you email me I can also provide you with a tracker sheet that I use to keep track on which class has completed which retrieval activity over the two years. I use it in a random order and the students know that the first 5 minutes of every other lesson is started in this way. Great for consistency and for an SLT learning walk!
