Originally designed to accompany BTEC qualification. Could easily be used for AEN students to guide them through basic atomic structure theory and electron configuration.
A variety of Chemistry assignments for the New BTEC First Specification. Feel free to use and adapt these assignments. They were originally written for an all boys comprehensive school but should be robust enough to meet the new criteria.
Ready to use! Straight out of the box, no printing of resources needed. Lesson relates to AQA Chemistry/Trilogy 9-1 Specification. Lesson contains a simple but interactive True or False starter. Clear definitions of pure substances, mixtures, formulation. Lesson also builds into discussion of heating curves, melting points, boiling points and how these relate to state of matter. Also contains example exam question and plenary at end. Could be incorporated into a practical lesson relating to heating curves. I used this as a theory lesson with middle ability Year 11 students.
Enjoy. Feedback welcome.
A powerpoint made up of 118 slides covering the Chemistry, Biology and Physics Required Practicals for the June 2022 exams using the Advanced Notice material. This powerpoint covers all the required practicals that will be examined in the AQA Combined Science foundation and higher content in the AQA Combined Science exam June 2022. The powerpoint also contains, exam questions with markschemes. The powerpoint should be used over a range of lessons or shared with students. This will take several lessons to walk students through these practicals and complete exam questions. Also contains exam booklets for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for Higher and Foundation.
each pupil was given an element from 1-20. They had to work out the electron structure of that particular element and make a poster using the templates provided. Part of the activity is the pupils choosing which template to use, depending on the number of electron shells their element has. Perfect for lower ability groups.
Long Answer booklets I created to use with Chemistry, Biology and Physics triple Science students. Print booklet off as A5 for each student and use during the revision period. Suitable for AQA or Edexcel. 30-40 pages of 6 mark questions in each booklet.
Made this to accompany the fusion 2 scheme of work. It relates to the first 6 lessons. From describing, elements, compounds, naming compounds and symbols. Used this with a lower ability science group in year 8. Could easily be adapted for years 7 and 9 also.
Planning sheet to be printed on A3 paper, you then walk through each question using the Powerpoint, students make simple notes and then attempt to answer each question. This is to be used with the C2 Edexcel Specimen Paper available on the Edexcel website.
A-Level Chemistry lesson that explains how to write redox equations using half equations and from oxidation numbers. Examples given, hand written on the powerpoint and exam question pack for students to complete. Originally made for OCR A Chemistry but suitable for all post 16 Chemistry exam boards.
Bundle containing all the lessons from the OCR Chemistry B topic. I have personally used a taught from these and they worked really well. The calculations have been modelled in each lesson and allow students to develop a mastery of the topics.
Ready to teach lesson. Accompanying worksheets and resources all found in powerpoint and ready to print. Lesson covers the AQA spec and goes over how water is processed to make it potable. I have used this many times and it seems to work well to cover the content.
2 worksheets created for a lower ability Year 8 class. Perfect for a starter activity, students can match up the pictures to the description and name of the resource. This could be completed on the interactive white board or printed and given to students as a short starter activity.
Non-renewable and renewable energy resources covered.
Atomic Structure and Nuclear Physics KS3 Scheme of Work created to replace the Rocks and Weathering Unit at KS3. (As the majority of the Rocks content has been taken out of the new Science GCSEs first exam June 2017). This includes 9 full 100 minute lessons plus resources for each. The full scheme of work and lesson plan for each is also included with additional technician notes for each lesson. This unit is ready to use and implement and could save hours and hours of work for your team. We have been using this with our Year 8 pupils and it is a great way to introduce some difficult concepts early on such as Atomic Structure and Nuclear Physics.

Full lesson outlining Gas Volume calculations, ready to pick up and teach. Includes colour coded differentiated calculation questions. Exam questions for edexcel C3 also included with markscheme.
Full lesson which outlines what reversible reactions are, what happens when we change the temperature and pressure of these reactions. Lesson also includes details of the Haber Process and involves the completion of a 6 mark question about the Haber Process. Excellent lesson ready to pick up and teach.
Full 50-100 minute lesson in which students are guided through the details of how to use a burette, volumetric flask and volumetric pipette. Should be used in conjunction with simple practical activity. Perfect for skills lessons in BTEC Applied Science courses or as an introduction to using a burette for KS4 Chemistry students. Easily adaptable with in built class activities once you have demonstrated how to use, rinse and take measurements from a burette.
