These 16 sheets will support your teaching of key areas of crime and punishment from 1000 - 1600. They not only cover the current specifications but are also designed to support the new GCSE specs taught from September 2016. Excellent for revision activities and also to use as standalone sheets to help with key knowledge in lessons. Many of these are also useful for lower ability and SEND pupils as they are visual with information broken up and presented in diagrams and with pictures. An assembly about prayer and how different beliefs practice it. I have taken the angle of discussing similarities and differences and introduced the idea of atheist prayer (a thunk). There is a link to a clip from a Christian discussing why prayer is important to them. Notes and knowledge are included in the notes section of the slides. This could also be used as a presentation in a lesson.

A lesson developed through staff collaboration using Lesson Study. Look for the other similarly named lessons. - Fully resourced - Fun and interactive - Designed for all abilities (including SEN) - Pair/Group work focused I delivered the lesson as follows: Starter: Inference Picture Task. Get pupils to try and suggest what may be happening in the picture (e.g. The White Cliffs of Dover suggests it’s in Britain etc) Main Tasks: Quick question video clip in which pupils watch the film and write down some basic answers. This is used to set the scene. Group Work: Get pupils into groups of 3. Prior to the lesson stick on one side of sugar/A3 paper the resources I have included (sources for invasion). Also pupils should read the 'Instruction sheet legionnaire' to gain an understanding of the task. Then give the pupils 15 minutes to plan. After this use the PP to bring up the scenario slides which may put a spanner in their planning. I do this every 5 minutes. Plenary/Consolidation: Pupils are to use the sentence starters to write an extended piece of writing about the invasion of Britain. Also, use the link to the BBC to see how accurate the pupils were in their exercises. ** The 'I believe' statement cards were used to try and get some of the quieter pupils to explain their thoughts orally.

An excellent way for pupils to capture how well they have done each time they try a source question. This has been made for the Impact of War on Britain GCSE History unit but I have left it adaptable so teachers can use it with any topic or any subject KS4 or 5. - Stick it on the inside of a pupils book at the beginning of the unit - Each time they do an exam question get them to write their mark and the date they did it on the grid - Excellent way to either show progress or spot were pupils are having difficulties with certain types of exam questions so you can focus their revision

A source sheet that can be linked to part of a lesson or used as the basis of one. One method I us is: - Display a photograph of children being evacuated from a train station. Ask pupils to develop some questions they would want to ask them, e.g. "What's in your suitcase?" etc. Write these on the board. -In pairs, pupils can study sources on the evacuation of children during WWII and attempt to answer the questions devised in the starter. Feedback to class. Extension – Pupils can try and create additional questions to ask about the evacuation. - Afterwards set a homework around the questions that could not be answered
