A graphic design project focusing on producing a promotional poster for an upcoming school event. The resource has working examples of the project and includes task by task guidance on how to complete the project. Can be set as independent work or as part of a lesson by lesson scheme of work. The resources starts with examples of the graphic design fundamentals and builds on these through the use of all skills during the project. Work can be produced on Photoshop, photopea.com (free), Canva or Google Slides. Can be used for KS3 or as part of a skills based mini project for KS4 graphic design, through an art and design GCSE. 18-20 hours expected completion time. Can be extended and reduced according to need.

A great project for introducing students to the content of GCSE Art & Design (Graphic Communication). The project is fully booklet based, and students produce work directly in the booklet, or digital and print it and glue into the appropriate titled page. There is a teacher led supporting PowerPoint included which shows more examples to help those who need additional support. Suitable for KS3 or KS4. The project is based around creating design work in the style of a designer of choice which also matches a chosen theme. Examples are given at the start of the booklet. There is also a PDF included which shows a range of other exam board approved designers which students can use as inspiration for their design work.

A 10 task graphic design project which introduces students to the fundamentals of graphic design, and encourages them to use these newly acquired design skills to create music/album artwork for two genres. Suitable for KS3 or KS4. The project itself focuses on merging 2 genres to creatively come with new artwork for a CD cover/playlist artwork. This can be done digitally or by hand. All tasks are clearly explained with visual examples for many. There is assessment criteria which students can use to self assess. There is also a music flyer extension task for those students who would benefit from stretch and challenge.

A 9 hour KS3 technology project focusing on Upcycling and board game creation. The students are required to investigate existing board games, design and make their own and create a small wooden dice, clay counters/game pieces, and a fabric sleeve to hold their game. The resource is clearly broken down into tasks and visual examples of previous work to help scaffold and support student learning. Material requirements: A4 modelling card air dry clay (or playdough/modelling clay) 30x30mm square of wood (pine ideally) recycled fabric for the sleeve (old curtains etc)

A skills based PowerPoint introducing students to two unique approaches to avoiding design fixation. This PowerPoint can be delivered as a lesson, used in parts as starters or plenaries or integrated into more detail project work. The design approaches provided work well with design & technology focused lessons, but could also be used for engineering lessons, or part of KS3 technology rotations where skills building is the main focus of the lessons.

This project will introduce students to the world of metals, and give them the opportunity to manipulate a non ferrous metal through cutting and shaping. The project is based around a given design brief - creating a small metal gift for a zoo gift shop. There is visual examples to help guide the students, as well as assessment criteria and design based extension tasks, including designing a logo for the zoo, packaging for the gift and a shop front for the gift to be sold in. There is also a further extension design task which focuses on modelling and designing a 3D schematic map for their zoo.
