This is a multisensory resource that focuses on prefix and suffix meanings, word lists, word phrases, sentences; word searches (optional) and includes a partner/small group activity that reinforces presented skills. The importance of teaching students the meanings of roots is a great strategy to develop deeper vocabulary and comprehension. There are numerous activities in this packet to support understanding of r-controlled words. R-Controlled/Bossy R (both terms are used interchangeably) include: ar, er, ir, or, and ur.
