A 38 slide PPT which presents the places and shops in the town using words and real life images. Animations included so that this presentation can be used as a revision exercise/form of assessment (AFL) as well as used to present the vocab initially. last two slides detail very simple oral and written tasks.

Worksheets to be sued for a pair activity (listening & comprehension). Description of a bedroom ('La chambre' vocab and prepositions revision) and an empty box on each worksheet. Students must listen to their partner read the description and draw the image to correspond with the paragraph. Each bedroom description is different.

Three worksheets based on 'Grand Corps Malade. First worksheet is a biography about him and his life. Questions here are in English (to be answered in English). This can be a starter activity to introduce students to the artist. Second Worksheet is based on his song ‘Je viens de la’ and is designed as a cloze test. It also has a short translation activity and a grammar activity too which can be assigned for homework. Third worksheet is adapted from an authentic source (French online newspaper) and questions are in French (to be answered in French). This can be differentiated by changing the questions to English/writing easier questions. Again, this can be done in class or for homework. The three worksheets are designed so that the students are progressively challenged , starting quite easy and finishing with difficult questions to be answered in the target language. I use this study as part of my TY module.

A short PowerPoint presentation which introduces adjectives and how to make them feminine/plural. Also attached is list of useful/important adjectives for beginner French students. I use this with my 1st years (ages 12 and 13). Lists the masculine and feminine version of the adjective and has a column in which to write the English translation. Worksheet to accompany the list of adjectives is for pair work/peer correction. Students must translate the descriptive paragraphs and their partner corrects. Last past of the worksheet asks students to write a paragraph about themselves using the samples as a guide.

2 separate word documents- one based on cyber-bullying and the other on social networking (for and against). Each handout has some useful phrases that advanced French students could use in opinion/reaction tasks. The handouts used a variety of tenses and expressions.

66 PPT slides - 33 photos of places in the town and 33 descriptions of what happens in each place or why people go to each place… These slides are printed and laminated and are used as a comprehension and vocab activity. The students must be able to understand the description to match it to the correct photo. The photo flashcards could also be used in a separate activity, where students simply have to name in French each place. Suitable for junior or senior students. A two page worksheet based around the topic of food. Includes translating and matching exercises. Used food items, meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and also utensils (cup, plate etc...). Contains two short sentences about what the student eats for breakfast and dinner which are suitable or the Irish Junior Cert ordinary level exam but this can be adapted or taken out to suit your class.

This is a very comprehensive and well structured vocabulary booklet for Junior Cert or Leaving Cert/GCSE French. It has 27 pages in total. All topics needed for the Junior Cert are covered (from days of the week, to food, directions, pastimes, animals etc…). Each unit of vocab is presented in a grid over one/two pages. The French words are written in in black and the English translations are written in in a different colour for each topic. Also includes a full page of useful verbs in the first person ‘je’ in the present, past and future tense. The key ‘je’ verbs for ordinary level French are highlighted but can of course, be amended. The booklet can be printed and put together to suit your preferences/class needs. This is a very easy and clear way of presenting or revising vocab and serves extremely helpful to the students. *For the same booklet, without the English translations, see ‘My Shop’.

A short 6 slide activity for French students. Suitable for junior students/Transition year students. Two texts in which students must find mistakes in spelling, agreement, gender, tense etc... Good intro to another activity or works well as an activity where students can work in pairs.

A worksheet based on Clara Luciani, a French singer currently in the charts (2019). There are 7 sentences which are written in the wrong order. For each sentence, students must write the correct version and then translate to English. These sentences will give students an introduction into this French musician.
