A set of 11-12 fully differentiated lessons covering the topic of Ecosystems, with a focus on tropical rainforests:
L1: Intro to Biomes - design your own plant/animal
L2: Locating the Biomes
L3: A Life-Support System - goods and services of the rainforest
L4 - Locals vs. TNCs
L5/6: Threats to the Rainforest
L7: Mass Extinction - focusing on the orangutan
L8: Conserving the Biosphere - CITES/RAMSAR
L9 - Conserving the Biosphere - National Parks (also includes PEQ, with slow writing frame)
L10: Sustainable Forestry - create your own forest
L11: Revision
A variety of activities have been included within these lessons to maximise engagement and cater for differing learning styles. Examples of activities include - leaflets, maps from memory, Twitter, taboo, create your own forest and picture sorts.
Every lesson has been fully differentiated - usually to at least 3 levels and all resources have been included.
Used with a mixed-ability Year 9 class, but can easily be adapted to fit other ages and abilities.

Two lessons focusing on the hydrological cycle and the role of the biosphere and lithosphere. These lessons are fully differentiated and incorporate a variety of learning styles, including making a foldable water cycle.
Used for mixed-ability Year 9 (Edexcel B GCSE specification) but could easily be adapted for Key Stage 3.

Full lesson covering the issue of water shortages, by focusing specifically on the Sahel region. This lesson includes a range of activities for different learning styles, including back-to-back photo analysis, video clips and rearranging sentences to form an exam answer. Two lessons covering the British Isles and ‘My World’:
L1: The British Isles – explores the British Isles and its main countries.
L2: My World – starts with a quiz to gauge students understanding of the world around them, before students work on their atlas skills to identify lots of countries and features and create a colourful world map.
These lessons include a range of activities for different learning styles, including think-pair-share, locating places/features using an atlas and a lively maps from memory team game!
Challenge activities (in pink bubbles) have also been included in each lesson.
Used for high-ability Year 7, but could easily be adapted for other year groups and abilities.

A range of creative and engaging starters & plenaries to use in your classroom.
Over 30 different starters & plenaries, including Liar Liar, Question Time, Risk and Phone a Friend!
I have put these together over the last few years so that I have a central place with lots of templates that are quick and easy-to-use.
These activities have been praised time and time again during observations and are always a hit with the students.
Simply copy and paste the slides and change the words to fit your lesson, making planning much more stress-free!

Population Explosion
This lesson explores world population growth and the idea of a population explosion. It also covers the factors that affect a country's birth rate and death rate. This lesson includes a range of activities for different learning styles, including a continuum line, card sort, diamond 9 and drawing emojis to represent the different factors!
Used for high-ability Year 8, but am also going to be using these activities with Year 10 so could easily be adapted for other year groups and abilities.

Tourism in Kenya
Introductory lesson to tourism in Kenya before moving onto ecotourism. A range of activities within this lesson, including a group decision-making exercise/role play. Students really got into this exercise and it helped them to formulate their own ideas around the advantages and disadvantages of mass tourism. Used with high-ability Year 8, but could easily be adapted for other year groups :)
