Here are two documents. These are used in continuous provision, and are in each area. The purpose is for staff members to refer to, for high level interactions, to know what the purpose of activity is and can be a way to show statements you are covering. Both documents have a natural background and include spaces for:
a question you are asking the children for that activity/area
a challenge you are giving the children for that activity/area
the statement you are covering/giving the children opportunity to achieve
any vocabulary you will use during interactions with the children
-the 7 areas shortened, e.g. Communication and Language = CL, so you can circle or highlight the areas you believe are relevant for that activity
This is a blank format to use for continuous provision planning in the EYFS.
It includes:
What the activity is in the specific area (Activity, question challenge)
Key vocabulary
Resources
Early Adopter (The statement being covered)
Writing opportunities
Maths opportunities
-Purpose
This is planning for a class of reception children for Autumn 1, Autumn 2, Spring 1 and Spring 2 and Summer 1. Unfortunately there is no Summer 2 due to Covid. It has been planned along side white rose maths and using a mastery approach. I focus on a number a week, along side the teaching of a shape where appropriate. There are also different aspects within the planning such as comparing amounts, number bonds to 10 and concept of time and patterns, It follows 4x sessions a week.
Hessian background notice boards. They have the headings:
