We are a husband and wife team! All our resources are aimed to help support the effective teaching of Languages; especially English, Literature and Mandarin (from KS3 to A-Level. Our resources are rooted in Assessment for Learning strategies, and usually include forms of differentiation. We believe in experiential and active learning, and hope that you find our resources help you readily offer such learning experiences to your students during the engaging lessons you plan on a daily basis.

A PowerPoint that takes students through the historical context of the play, and the events that take place before the play begins. It also introduces the students to key characters and contains questions on the first two pages of the play. There is also a research extension task on the last slide. This resource also comes with a loom recording of the PowerPoint slides. In this recording I talk through the slides and go over the answers to the questions.

This resource consists of three close reading, study questions for Act One of the Crucible. Full model answers are included for all questions. Question sheet 1 focuses on the moment Betty wakes up. This consists of a total of 13 questions in total. Question sheet 2 focuses on the arrival of Hale. This sheet contains 16 questions in total. Question sheet 3 focuses on the moment Tituba is accused. This sheet contains 21 questions in total. I have also included my annotations of a passage from Act one that I used with the following question: How does Miller present the relationship between Proctor and Abigail in the following passage?

This bundle contains an EEA table, help sheet and assessment pie as well as an example response to Q2d of the 0500/ 0990 Specimen paper 1. It also contains an example response to Q1f from the same paper that is marked using the annotations that the examiners use when the paper is marked. In addition, it contains success criteria that can be used for Q1f, Q2d and Q3 of Paper 1. I have created these resources based on my experiences of being an examiner for this paper over the last 8 years.

It contains annotations of poems, and a collection of question banks for most of the poems contained in the IGCSE Cambridge International Literature Poetry anthology. These questions can be used for revision, or after the students have undertaken their first reading of a poem. The questions are designed to help students explore the meanings of the poems (A01 and A02), the effects of the poets’ use of language and the effects of their use of structure (A03). The poems also encourage students to develop a personal opinion in relations to the attitude conveyed in each poem (A04).
